Free Music Review: Bagpipe Punk kicks ass

The thing that makes the Dropkick Murphy's stand out is obviously the traditional Irish flavor of their punk, and they don't disappoint on this album.
I think they have finally struck a balance on this album between Irish/Punk that they never had before. My favorite song on the album is "Captain Kelly's Kitchen" (Tura-lura-la, Tura-lura-laddie), but the first six or seven songs are gold with the possible exception of Sunshine Highway which I like just fine, but those 19-year-old punkers who listened to C*ck Sparrer before they were even born will probably despise (i.e. - it seems a bit poppy).
"Wicked Sensitive Crew", which is either an in-joke or a dig at Metallica, is hilarious. It makes me want to go back to Lowell. No one says "wicked" in Minneapolis, I assure you. "The Auld Triangle" is also a great song and I notice that Amazon has a sound sample. The beginning of it always reminds me of LOTR, but the song really rocks... it's probably my 4th or 5th favorite track on the album, so listen to it and if you like it, BUY NOW.
Finally, the recording of "Tessie" is worth the price of the album (I got it for $9.99 at Target) and I also suggest you pick up Punk-O-Rama 10 - the DVD disk has a great video for this version that they filmed in Fenway.
