So Dry Kill Logic decided to part ways with their previous label 'roadrunner' due to artistic differences. I guess 'roadrunner' wouldn't let them be who they wanted to be. It shocks me because of the diversity between the bands that once graced and those that still grace the label, bands like Coal Chamber and SPineshank and even Slipknot...bands that were as heavy as if not heavier than this release, but thats all besides the point, right? Anyways, the sophmore release of Dry Kill Logic blows their debut out of the water, and that was a difficult leap since 'The Darker Side of Nonsense' was one killer album. Starting off the CD with "LOST" Dry Kill Logic get your blood pumping with blood curtling screams and brutal riffs...the chorus is just insane. "PAPER TIGER" comes next and is my favorite track off the album. The lead singer shows that he not only can scream his @$$ off but he can sing too and that is impressive. The chorus is sung and he sounds really good. The bridge 'now I see that it's coming under' is just infectious as is the song in it's entirety! "BUCKLES" keeps going in the brutal direction with pounding drums and impressive guitar work thats reminisent of Pantara days with screams that would scare Cory Taylor of Slipknot. This guy has this deep growl that is just so awsome. "WITH DEEPEST REGRET" is just as heavy as the rest. I love the drums here. "NEITHER HERE NOR MISSED" is a softer song with impressive lyrics and great singing and the chorus just rips you a new one and will have you screaming "When you lie, when you F@#$ing steal and f@#$ing cheat and lie! "PERFECT ENEMY" starts off heavy and fast and keeps the momentum throughout. "LIVING WITNESS" follows the same formula with some of the best drumming on the album...it's freaking awsome. "ONE HANDED KNIFE FIGHT" has an interesting and pretty unique (at least to the rest of the album) guitar work...this song stands out from the rest of the crowd and that alone makes it noteworthy. I like it alot and the chorus is done more like a chant back and forth between the lead singer and the rest of the band. "AS THICK AS THIEVES" is one of the better songs here with a really cool chorus and intence heavy versus but a very melodic core. You'll be screaming along before no time! One of the best! "200 YEARS" is what got me into the CD...Just purely brutal and insane and just freaking in your face non stop awsome. This has the greatest chorus and bridge out of the entire album! AWSOME! "NO REASON" is the closer and I have to say that I love it because it reaches new heights and shows that these guys are diverse and have more than just one card up their sleeve. I've heard reviewers say that they don't like this song because it sounds too contemperary but this is no Creed guys this song is still kick @$$ and I like the fact this guy can sing just as well as he can scream. Guitar work towards the end is killer. All in all this whole cd is great with standouts being "PAPER TIGER" and "NO REASON" as well as "200 YEARS" and "AS THICK AS THIEVES"...so buy this and enjoy every minute of it!
