Free Music Notes for Duets (2000 Film)Free Music Review: Duets worth a try! Hit: 4 StarsI bought this CD after hearing a sampling from a local radio station. Although the track with Huey Lewis is on the current play list, the duet with Babyface (Just My Imagination) is better. I tolerated Bette Davis Eyes, and most of the other tracks are worth listening to. Gweneth Paltrow is definately a talented person.
Free Music Review: Music truly for 'cruisin'...a good CD to buy Hit: 3 StarsI must admit that I am not a Gwyneth Paltrow fan - but when I saw the preview of her movie duets, I was quite impressed with her singing. Who would've imagined Gwyneth has such a talent for music. 'Cruisin' (with Huey Lewis) has a good blending that will really make you make the duet into a trio, as you are suddenly drawn into the rhythm of the music. Gwyneth's rendition of 'Bette Davis' Eyes' also deserves praise, with it's techno-type approach. This doesn't mean that I get to be a full-fledged G.P. fan, but I do hope that she does more songs soon.
Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack Hit: 5 Starswow Gwyneth has it all, and she can sing. It was fun to see her in a sort of silly, non english proper role as some of her other films. This soundtrack is great and its great to have Gwyneth on CD. Mario Bello does a great job with her songs too. Go buy it, its really good!
Free Music Review: a nice departure from the typical "Diva" sounds Hit: 4 StarsIf you are tired of Alanis and Jewel and all of the other women who try to sing but truly lack talent, buy this and be pleasantly surprised. Gwenyth Paltrow's voice is feminine, lilting, and lovely. She is the reason I bought the CD and she shines. Bette Davis Eyes is just ok- but it is a tough song for ANYONE. I truly hope someone gives this girl a recording contract. The other songs are fun for the most part pretty good. But I was simply amazed at the raw talent Gwenyth seems to possess- now that is a woman who can sing.
Free Music Review: Three cheers to Maria Bello! Hit: 4 StarsWhile Paltrow stays nice but a little bit weak as a singer, Maria Bello got me. Her "Sweet Inspiration" is an as great performance as "I can't make you love me" is. The other songs are good, too and it is a quite interesting thing that the actors sing by themselves and do not let other give them their voice. At least on this album they do not have to hide their own voices...
