Free Music Notes for Duran Duran

Free Music Review: One of the best!
Hit: 5 Stars

I remember buying this album when it first came out in 1981 and being thrilled at how fantastic it was. What can I say, after 22 years it still excites me! I subsequently bought Rio & Seven & The Ragged Tiger when they came out all those years ago, and they too equalled the debut album for great songs and excellent production and have given me some fond memories. This is a fantastic album, and the remastering does a good job of refreshing the sound making it sound a lot clearer and more powerful (I think).

Free Music Review: Wonderful!
Hit: 5 Stars

Duran Duran, the group, did an outstanding job with this debut album. I would not change a thing. Duran Duran encompass a style and music together. Though they are considered a "pop band" their music and lyrics were never typical of pop music. If you enjoy the synth pop sound of the early 80's this album is a must.My favorite track would have to be "The Sound of Thunder". I love all of the music created on this album. This album second only to Rio by Duran Duran in my opinion.

Free Music Review: Holds up to the test of time!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this album back in 1982 and through the years have purchased it a few times in a few different formats and I'm amazed how this Duran album never seems to sound dated. It is raw and unique which I think still makes it appealing today. My 18 year old son heard it for the first time and was suprised to find out this was his "old mans" music. This is an album that will remain alternative or new wave for old and new fans for years to come.

Free Music Review: The best debut album ever
Hit: 5 Stars

Duran Duran's self-titled debut, in addition to being the band's second-best album (after "Medazzaland," in my opinion), is the quintessential new wave/new romantic album. The band blends punk and disco to create a totally new and refreshing style of music. Label the music however you like; it's just Duran Duran, and it's great.

Free Music Review: Never sounded better
Hit: 5 Stars

I swear the album never sounded this good before. And - now we in the US get the full, real, official album with "To The Shore." Amazing!
