Free Music Review: 80's synth-rock comes alive!
Hit: 5 Stars

Come with me and take a journey back in time to when great music ruled the air-waves. This is synth-pop rock at it's finest, this is without a doubt a true greatest hits collection. A complete retrospective that covers all of their hits. If you remember the 80's, these tracks should be instantly recognizable. 'Hungry Like The Wolf', 'The Reflex', 'A View To A Kill', 'Notorious', 'Wild Boys', 'Union Of The Snake', 'New Moon On Monday', 'Is There Something I Should Know', & 'Rio' are here. The early 90's comeback hits are also here: 'Come Undone' and 'Ordinary World', as well as the '97 hit 'Electric Barbarella'. I can listen to all 19 songs on this CD and rarely skip a track. Brings back some great memories from growing up in the 80's listening to the radio and watching MTV(when MTV actually played VIDEOS). Grab this one and enjoy great 80's music. ROCK ON!

Free Music Review: 'Decade' revisited - however still a 'must have'
Hit: 5 Stars

Although to any fan of Duran, this will be DECADE plus a few tracks - but the track choices and packaging will certainly appeal to greater masses than the prior greatest hits collection (Decade). This is the cream of the crop - less any frills - fan opinion to the duran website (duranduran.com) begged for something different (B Sides, live, etc.) however Capitol(in their last release with Duran - as the band has left Capitol)..insisted on this compilation. All the hits, plus Serious, Electric Barbarella and interestingly enough Duran put enough thought into this to include "US edits", "Radio mixes", etc. so you are getting the best, tightest mixes of all the singles. This will be a permanent part of any collection of a movement of music that defined glam rock - great stuff. Buy it with confidence. PS Where is Warren on the cover artwork?

Free Music Review: No Filler
Hit: 5 Stars

Duran Duran's albums are completely filled with filler material, with only a couple of hits. But all the filler was vaporized and condensed into a hits collection that truly rocks. Perhaps, this is the only essential Duran Duran disc that you may ever need. Yet, it is almost impossible to gather all the hits of a great band and put them on one single disc. This was the mistake, since all the songs are shortened in order to fit all the 19 tracks. "The Reflex" has no digital remastering because it sounds awful. "Save a prayer" has a short introduction, not allowing you to hear the cool-sounding synth. There are remixes that are usually included in hit collections, but none are here. Still, who needs the remixes? If you do not know the titles to the songs, I'm pretty sure you've heard many on the radio already. In conclusion, "Greatest" is a true gem.

Free Music Review: Great stuff...80s at its best
Hit: 5 Stars

I remember clearly going to girls houses in junior high in the 80's and long and behold there was posters of Duran Duran filling up the walls...it disgusted me at the time...all the girls drooling over Simon Lebon and the band...thinking theyre only a fad like say Menudo...how can they been taken seriously when girls drooled over them?

15 years later...here we are...and looking back and no drooling their music stands the test of time for its upbeat great songs....after awhile I got to appreciate them...seeing they didnt werent some pretty boy act...and not a one hit wonder... I think when Power Station the band came about I sat up and took notice on the guitar players of Duran Duran...

Anyway...Im not really into this band but really like this CD...I recommend it highly...and this is coming from a dude that always hated Boy George...

Free Music Review: THE FAB FIVE AT THEIR BEST!
Hit: 5 Stars

A totally great CD from one of the greatest bands of all time!!! A tribute to fab five Simon LeBon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor. The compilation contains the essential hits of the Birmingham five. Looking down memory lane, I still could recall buying my first Duran Duran album, idolizing John Taylor back in highschool and recording on "betamax" all their muisc videos. "The Reflex", "Hungry Like The Wolf", "Save A Prayer", "Rio", "New Moon On Monday","View To A Kill" and ""Union Of The Snake" are all time favorites of mine. Too bad "Careless Memories" wasn't included in this selection. "Last time La Luna, I light my torch and waived for the New Moon on Monday........"
