Free Music Review: Great for the Duran Duran fan.

Just as "The Cars" updated their 1985 greatest hits recently, this is a huge improvement over the previous "Decade" collection. This gets you 5 more songs, and tracks released since 1989. Not only does this include "Ordinary World" and "Come Undone", but also "New Moon on Monday", which "Decade" did not have. Of the songs I didn't know, I like "Serious" alot, and of those I did, my favorite will always be "Hungry like the Wolf". That song is pure 80's. As far as the edits go, I didn't even notice the difference. This should go great between your "INXS" and "Culture Club" cd's.Free Music Review: Duran Duran.

What can I say about this album? Whether you are an 80's music lover or a Duran Duran fan, or you just like good music, you must have this album. It is by far one of the best compilations ever released. You get all Duran Duran's biggest hits in one nice package. To be honest, if you buy Greatest you do not really need any other albums by Duran Duran, you will have their best songs right here. The only other album that you should consider is Rio. I personally think Electric Barbarella is the best song on Greatest (I've never even heard it on the radio,) but all of the songs on here are great! Duran Duran's album Greatest is just that, the Greatest. Definitely five stars!!Free Music Review: Great CD

Before I bought this CD, I had "Decade" and when I saw that they had another one out, I bought it and sold the other. I like this one better than "Decade" because "New Moon On Monday" was on this CD as well as "Electric Barbarella(sic?)", which I had only heard on Jay Leno.But there is a little flaw, and that is the fact that the intro to "Rio" was cut. Other than that, the rest of the CD is okay. I know that some other songs were cut, but I don't notice the difference.
All the songs bring back memories of when I heard them when they were hits, especially "Hungry Like...", and "Notorious".

"Greatest" is a terrific album of classic singles for any 80's fan or pop music fan. The only disappointment is that many singles haven't been included, esp. "My Own Way", "Careless Memories", "Violence Of Summer" and "White Lines" just to name a few! Duran Duran are simply one of the best pop/rock bands of the past 20 years and this c.d. is a great testament to that. Some detailed liner notes or at least chart positions of the songs would have been welcome. This music brings back very fond memories of the 80's for me, although i'm only 27! I highly recommend "Greatest" to everyone.Free Music Review: the boys can write!

We know they were easy on the eyes. We know they made the girls go nutz! What people need to remember about the group is that they could (still can) write great songs! "Ordinary World" is a perfect combination of lyric and music (although I prefer the album version), Nick is a gifted writer and keyboardist, John had some very slick bass grooves, Simon is...well, Simon. This CD celebrates all the glam as well as the great (though not including all the "greatest")music in the last 2 decades. Pick it up and remember that the boys are still making fantastic music based on their guts and not the "industry."
