Free Music Notes for Red Carpet Massacre (Deluxe Edition)Free Music Review: Introducing a new side of Duran Duran Hit: 5 Stars
Initially listening to this, I thought to myself, yah, I don't think I can wrap my head around this one. But then after giving it a few more tries - it grew on me. And I am now to the point where I absolutely love it, with the exception of 1 song - the instrumental - sorry Nick. But is there really a album where you LOVE, just LOVE every song on there?....other than their earlier records of course.
So the people who have put there reviews on here and said that it is just awful, I would ask you to consider giving it a few more chances. If you have a love of the boys as many of us do, they to this day will still get a hold of you in some way. Give yourself a chance to enjoy it as I did.
Enjoy it!
Free Music Review: Red Carpet quality Hit: 5 Stars
I waited a few months to review this album because I like to know if the album has a good 'stay' factor for me. In fact, I love this album even more over time. It's a fun mix of layered DD sound and dance grooves, along with several soulful songs reminiscent of Ordinary World and Come Undone. The first 3 tracks, The Valley, Red Carpet Massacre and Nite Runner all start the dance feel but then Falling Down brings a reality check showing why DD is so versatile and talented. Simon LeBon's lyrics are at times fun and at others more relatable. I can't count how many times I feel like dancing my way through traffic while listening to this in my car. Tempted and Skin Divers bring you back into that "I just have to move and sing along" feeling. If you ever get a chance to see this album performed live, you'll love it even more. Enjoy RCM !!!
Free Music Review: I REALLY LOVE THIS 5 Stars
I had to write something given all the bashing this album gets! No it doesn't have a rock sound and no it's not Duran's usual 'Duran' sound but it comes close in tracks like 'Tempted' & 'Box Full O Honey'. I enjoyed the change in production (and I'm a Duran fan since the very beginning!) and I enjoyed the dance edge of the project. It's a shame 'Falling Down' was the first single as it's not reflective of the sound at all! 'Skin Divers' would have made a beter choice as first single.
I know alot of Duran fans disagree but I have to say I found this to be an enjoyable listen. Hightlights for me are, 'The Valley,'Red Carpet Massacre','Box Full O Honey','Skin Divers,'Tempted' & 'She's Too Much'.

Free Music Review: Excellent!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a fan of this band from the beginning; own every album and I have to say this is an excellent album!
I must confess I had serious reservations about Duran working with Timberlake and Timbaland and count myself as a fan of the work of Andy Taylor. However, that being said, all concerns and doubt were quickly erased when I listened to this album in it's entirety.
It's one of Duran's best albums and I think that if some of these songs can get some airplay, Red Carpet Massacre will be a huge hit.
But, then again, that was the case with Astronaut as well. However, only "Sunrise" got any airplay when there were at least two other radio-worthy songs on that album as well.
Time will tell how this one does.
Free Music Review: Still Duran Duran - very different this time Hit: 5 Stars
This album is not what I was expecting. It's all techno-rave-pop sounding stuff. Most songs sound a little slow to me, but there are a few that are more upbeat. "Nite-Runner" is my favorite. It's great when you're driving: just crank the bass up and woohoo! "Falling Down", "Tempted" and "Tricked Out" are cool also. "Skin Divers" is interesting.
I love Duran Duran, so I'm going to like just about anything they come out with. This album is really like nothing they've ever done before. If I had to compare it to another one of their albums, I'd say it's closer to Medazzaland - electronica-esque. Quite different, but enjoyable! :)
