Free Music Notes for Red Carpet Massacre (Deluxe Edition)

Free Music Review: not as dark as im used to
Hit: 3 Stars

being a fan of d/d since the 80s i have followed them from the top to the bottom and back again, i have always been a fan of their b songs more than their a songs, however unlike astronaut and poptrash the essence of darkness isnt there, with tracks like box o honey and skin divers the general question is huh?. if you look back even in the days of notorious and liberty you can feel a certian essence of oh whats the word..oh yeah lack of feeling, however this album isnt without its good tracks, tempted is a nice catchy tune and falling down is probley the best work on the album, but of you are looking for the dark romantic duran duran you wont find it on this album.

Free Music Review: To electronic/dance oriented
Hit: 3 Stars

DD were masters at combining dance beats and loops with real rock instruments. it is a good dance/lounge record but it needs the guitar, bass and drums to make it huge. I know that it will grow on me but DD needs Andy Taylor's imput. This sounds like it was created on computers. It lacks the human touch/ soul.
Dance mongers will love it, rockers will be dissapointed...

Free Music Review: Wonderful Album, Wasted Edition
Hit: 3 Stars

If you buy this thinking there will be a ton of D2 pics, you're in for a mess of model views instead. A bit of a waste, get the regular edition.

Free Music Review: Sometimes experiments fail
Hit: 2 Stars

I love Duran Duran. Ever since 1983 they've been my heroes.
But this just didn't work for me. I don't begrudge their wanting to work with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. That's part of what Duran is...never make the same record twice. Risk taking is innate in the band.
Sometimes experiments fail. My other favorite band, U2, had that experience with "Pop," in my opinion. They tried something. It didn't really work. Same goes for "Red Carpet Massacre."
This is not to say that the record is without its positive moments. "Falling Down" is great music. The title track is edgy and raucous. "Box Full Of Honey" is likewise good. The rest just sounds like a bunch of guys trying to imitate hip hop.
As I said, I love Duran Duran. I'd love to give them 5 stars for this. But I'm afraid I have to give them 2.

Free Music Review: Red Carpet Mess Occured
Hit: 1 Stars

I love DD. I love thier albums. Even LIBERTY! RCM is so completely in the wrong direction that I do not know where to begin. I am devistated. SHE'S TOO MUCH is the only track I love. NITE RUNNER is okay, but I just cannot bring myself to buy it. The rest I will never revisit.

I'm sorry, guys. I guess I just either don't get it or don't fit the demographic this time out. I feel so left out! Guess ASTRONAUT will have to hold me over for the next 3+ years.
