Free Music Notes for Red Carpet Massacre (Snys)Free Music Review: Dialate Your Mind Hit: 5 Stars
There's an expectation that Duran has a "certain" sound and really, it's too bad because they have always been so much more than surface musicians. This album will be one that is a "great miss." There aren't too many bands now-a-days that carry the true face continuity but I unfortunately think Duran has been categorized as a fluffy boy band since the 80's when that could be at least 80% from the truth.
Free Music Review: Old becomes New Hit: 5 Stars
This album is as close as you can get to the original Duran2 without re-recording the 1st two albums. It brings back the melodic sense as well as the club-catered groove. Arguably their best overall effort alongside Rio and Medazzaland. Hopefully it won't be their last. Btw- see the tour at all costs. The bonus track available on the UK version is as good as any track here, so find it if you can.
Free Music Review: Give it a listen Hit: 5 Stars
As a long time Duran Duran fan, I was skeptical about RCM before its release, but there was no need to worry. Simon's voice sounds as great as ever, and the lyrics are excellent as well. This was actually the first Duran Duran cd in many years that I really liked every song the first time through, and I continue to listen to every song on the cd. Give it a listen!
Free Music Review: Should be given more credit Hit: 5 Stars
I'm an avid Duran Duran fan, yes, but I still wouldn't recommend this if I didn't fully believe that it is truly genius. Give it a listen, try to not automatically discredit it because you've never liked "The Reflex," and see what you think. You may just be pleasantly surprised and add this to your collection.
Free Music Review: Grows on you...fast! Hit: 5 Stars
They say that this album is a tribute to their old dance roots. First listen it doesn't sound like Duran Duran but it grows on you. It's one of my favorite CDs now. I could do without Justin Timberlake and timbaland, but DD was always mainstream... Definitely worth it even for the diehard DD fan.
