Free Music Review: One of The Greatest Pop Female Vocalists of All-Time

No one can hear the songs on this collection and remain untouched by the raw talent of Dusty Springfield. She left us much too soon, and only now since her passing is she finally getting the recognition she deserved. Her voice has a foggy texture which conveys a sort of savage yet classy sensuality. And as a supreme vocalist she is always in total control of her art. I always felt she was underated during her lifetime. Although Bachrach is great, the material is not equal to the singer. My favorite cut is "You Don't Have To Say You love Me". The Pet Shop Boys are already forgotten but Dusty's music will remain for all-time!Free Music Review: Dusty Lives On Thru Her Music

Though I knew she'd been very ill with cancer these last few years, I was still deeply saddened when I heard the news of her death on Tues.,March 2nd. Ironically I purchased this collection almost exactly a month before and now I am so glad that I did. As Darlene Love said in her recent memoirs, "Lord, that girl could sing!" She will likely post-humously receive her induction into the R&R Hall Of Fame next week and deservedly so. Despite sounding cliched, heaven now has a new girl singer to add to their choir and the music will sound so sweet! RIP, Dusty and thanks for all the great tunes!Free Music Review: Blue eye soul

I purchased this CD prior to Dusty's passing. Dusty is the queen of Blue eye soul.she always seem to like someone elses takes on her songs but she was the best. "I'll TRY ANYTHING TO GET YOU" is my favorite because it was right on the money at its place in time. I am sure that "THE LOOK OF LOVE" is responsible for its own BABY BOOM. Dusty is as soul as soul can get if you have listened to this and the Memphis CD you will know she is the best of the best,ake her peers. Dusty Springfield epitomizes the impact of the British invasion from the '60's to the '90's when her collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys showed she could still ooze that raw soul. More importantly, it was her respect for American musicians and songwriter like Burt Bachrach that again the talent that came out of England in the '60's and '70's had so much more respect and homage to black music than American bands in the same era. We tried to whitewash them, singers like Dusty celebrated them. Rest in Peace,Dusty.
