First of all, this is one fun CD to listen to. I challenge anyone to sit still through the first song, let alone the rest!! It rocks, it's energetic and enthusiastic. Dwight sounds great(!!), and the band never misses a beat. Eddie Perez, in particular, shines on the guitar, but it's all first-class. And it's all created in love and admiration for a true country music legend and super nice person, Buck Owens. The lyrics booklet contains fantastic pictures of Dwight and Buck spanning the years and these are worth the purchase price alone. My favorite song? ALL OF THEM!! What an incredible album ... Dwight Yoakam obviously devoted a lot of care and poured a lot of emotion into this tribute to his friend and mentor, Buck Owens, and his love for the man and his music shows in every note. Eddie Perez, Josh Grange, Kevin Smith, Mitch Marine, Skip Edwards, and the rest of the musicians who contributed also outdid themselves. These 15 fantastic songs are faithful to the classic Bakersfield sound of Buck and The Buckaroos, yet they take on new life as Dwight and his bandmates make them their own. Buck is Buck and Dwight is Dwight...but the spin that Dwight puts on Buck's songs is completely worth hearing. I own nearly all of Dwights albums and I live in the Bakersfield area where Buck was (and still is in a lot of ways) a big influence. While I love, love, love to hear the original Buck tunes (thanks to his awesome radio stations), Dwight does amazing justice to Buck with this album. I've seen Dwight sing these live as well and he's awesome there too. If you're a fan of both artists than you're going to love this album! Enjoy!Free Music Review: Only Dwight could do this.

Buck Owens voice is so recognizable and so special in its Bakersfield sound that any one else doing an album like this would sound corny or like they were trying make fun. I am a big fan of both and wondered if we'd hear Buck or Dwight. What a trip It was ALL DWIGHT singing ALL BUCK. I know every word to those songs and I found myself learning them all over again....Buck is someplace laughing and so very proud of his good friend. Great Job Dwight. This CD does not disappoint. Dwight Yoakam's renditions of Buck Owens' songs are amazing. Bringing this well known "Bakersfield Sound" to it's current and modern state will leave you remembering why you loved it so much the first time around. It's a teriffic memorial to the late Buck Ownens, a man who was timeless and pushed country music to a new direction. Dwight really knows how to rock the tunes and will give you years of joy listing to this over and over again.
