Free Music Notes for This TimeFree Music Review: Superb Album by a Country Master Hit: 5 Stars
This is the perfect country album. I love all of Dwight's work, but this one is truly a well-rounded classic. Whether you want country swing, honky tonk, a ballad or rock, it's all here and done exceptionally well. Dwight is always interesting and original, even when he's "retro" in his styling. He's totally unique and a breath of fresh air even 16 years after this album came out. "This Time" is an especially welcome break to hear in this era of watered down "pop" country music. I cannot name a favorite song because they're all top notch. Highly recommend.
Free Music Review: Great Country Hit: 5 Stars
Since I own every Dwight album except the new box set I would say that next to Guitar, Cadillacs, etc. this is Dwight's best album. I have listened to it many many times and it would be wrong to pick out favorite songs. Dwight put this out (if memory serves correctly) after his breakup with Sharon Stone, so there are some powerful songs and great sad country here. Maybe as fast as you is certainly one of the best country songs ever, and in fact was the first country song I ever liked!!! You should own this album if you like Dwight or country or music at all.
Free Music Review: A DEFFINATE MUST HAVE!!! OH SO SOOTHING TO LISTEN TO. Hit: 5 Stars
This album is my most favorite of Dwight's work. My very first album of his I bought and it is terrific work. You have your georgeous slow songs, "Home for Sale", "Two Doors Down", "Ain't That Lonely Yet", "Try Not To Look So Pretty", then there's your down and fun, grinding, mover n shakers like "A Thosand Miles From Nowhere", "Wild Ride", and a person can't forget the popular "Fast As You". you definately deserved that GRAMMY!
Free Music Review: Dwight is terrific! Hit: 5 Stars
Dwight is more than alright. Take it from this bonafide country gal. He is a remarkable artist and this a wonderful album.
My favorites are " A Thousand Miles for Nowhere," "A Pocket of a Clown," Aint That Lonely Yet," "Wild Ride."
If your looking for that upbeat country album with some kickin' vocals then Dwight should be your choice. This will be one of those you leave in your CD player for long periods of time it's that good!
Free Music Review: They throw the word genious around loosely these days... Hit: 5 Stars
.
...but in the Case of Mr. Dwight Yoakam, the term Genious fits like a good pair of Tony Lama cowboy boots
.
My favorite artist, and the best from his amazing canon of work.
.
1,000 Miles from Nowhere
.
&
.
Ain't That Lonely Yet
.
...these are his two best songs.
Eveything he does is good, but if you're gonna get loaded on Yoakam, may as well start with the best stuff.
