Free Music Review: Dynamite!

Wow! This is a great CD, one of the better ones of its type. While the single "Boyz In The Hood" is funny and listenable, the rest of the CD sounds nothing like that...which is a good thing, we don't need an entire disc filled with mockings of old rap songs. Dynamite Hack's talent may be overshadowed by this song. Some of their other songs are amazing. "Slice of Heaven" is a loud but very happy number, as the romantic and catchy "Blue Skies." "Wussypuff," a great title for a song, has more edge but also stays with you. But the real prizewinner is "Anyway," for no particular reason other than being a fun song. Dynamite Hack was brilliant when they decided to release a slow version of the track with a female singer (I wish I knew who she was.) It's a really pretty song that has little to do with the rest of the songs, but is a great contrast with DH's own version. There are a couple more forgettable tracks on here, but overall it's a very cohesive album that any fan of alternative music should buy. I doubt it will disappoint.
