Free Music Notes for Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975Free Music Review: Like a collection of your most hated '70s Commerial Jingles Hit: 1 StarsI wanted to like this album. i really did, but it's full of the most overplayed songs
in history. I'd rather listen to the greatest commercial jingles of the 70s. (The Dr. Pepper song, Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut, Sometimes You Don't, Plop-Plop Fizz Fizz, Oh What A Relief it Is). the problem with the Eagles is their soulessness. No soul. And no sense of humor. All they did was rip off The Flying Burrito Brothers. If you want to hear a great album of easy listening Country Rock Pop, I suggest you buy the Best of Bread.
Free Music Review: who DOESN't have this? Hit: 5 Starsjudging by how well it has sold, its hard to imagine anyone not having it. I think these are all great songs, a wonderful selection from the Eagles best period (though volume 2 has terrific songs that are also essential listening).
I actually don't have this cd; I have a strange import thing that has all of these songs minus "witchy woman," which i can do without, and supplements these with 5 or 6 of the best songs from volume 2, the Joe Walsh period. I can't find it anywhere on Amazon, but I recommend that you get the newly released Very Best of collection instead of volumes 1 and 2, because it has a huge track selection.
These songs are easygoing, polished country rock with a mellow edge; the harder rock stuff is on volume 2. If you have never heard the Eagles give this a listen; most likely you will want your own copy immediately. Happy listening!
Free Music Review: This is okay, but it's missing a lot... Hit: 3 StarsThis 1971-75 compilation is just average. Like its continuation (Vol. 2), this has some of the Eagles' best songs from this time period, but has too many missing. "James Dean", "Ol' 55", and "Midnight Flyer" are nowhere to be found here, and "After The Thrill Is Gone" is stuck on the second compilation. Grab "Eagles: The Very Best of" instead of this and its sequel. It has all the songs featured here, and many more.
Free Music Review: The earlier Eagles are wonderful Hit: 5 StarsWIth just a hint of country influence, Henley and Frey show themselves to be excellent song-writers. From the fun-loving song "Take it Easy", to the wistful "Witchy Woman", to the contemplative "Desperado," this greatest hits album really is an album of great hits. No fillers or second-rate pieces on this album. All songs will be recognized by lovers of classic rock from the 70's.
Free Music Review: Great Compilation! Hit: 5 StarsThe Eagles are amazing, and this has to be one of the best compilations ever made! Most of the great pre-Hotel California album songs are on here, including my favorite song by them, "Witchy Woman". A must have!
