Free Music Notes for Hell Freezes OverFree Music Review: Phenomenal! Brought their '70s rock to grunge heavy 1994 Hit: 5 Stars
I never thought that the Eagles would bring their '70s rock to 1994, when grunge bands dominated the charts and harder beats of rap were common. While I like those genres, I thought about the Eagles, since I remember songs like Hotel California. They sound in fine form in their acoustic versions of these hits. Don Henley and Glenn Frey and the underrated Timothy B. Schmitt sound superb in their lead singing. The other band members sounded good in their music sections. They do it exactly like it is on the records! Proof that they have their own stamp over their music. The three studio songs that they did in 1994 sound good, though Learn To Be Still sounds a little bland from them. Love Will Keep Us Alive, I still like a good 10-11 yrs. later! And I like the attitude laden, politically driven Get Over It! If it true that the band is recording a new album, it will be another classic and sell millions of CDs! But for a band to take a 14-year break and come back like this is unheard of. They won several awards with this album and toured again. They are one of the best American bands to still consistently perform today!
Free Music Review: You wanted the best of Eagles, and some new great tunes. This is it ! Hit: 5 Stars
Eagles has the sound, charisma, and personalites to kick
other group`s in the "same area" way out there, when it come`s to pure, let`s called it "eargasm". It realy get you goin` into the right mood with Track 1 Get over It. A fast, good rockin" light fuzz guitar driven rock & roll tune with a Don Henley voice just right there where you want it. But the best one on this CD, is Track 2: Love will keep us alive, with Timothy B Schmidt on vocal. It`s honest, well krafted, and something to think about for each of us. Simple and say so much: Love will keep us alive. A very suprising effort "should have been a great hit" this one up there with the others oldies and goodies you find on this CD. Track 3 The Girl from Yesterday and Track 4 Learn to be Still, is ok tracks. And after that the rest of the bunch is goodies and oldies from the Eagles catalouge. Quality all over, not too much more to say in that department. But the
overall sound on this CD is very well produced, and should even kick life into the cheapest stereo sorround players which are around all over the world. Eagles at his best. This is it.
Free Music Review: Possibly their last reunion, but maybe not Hit: 5 Stars
The Eagles prove that they are still a great live band with Hell Freezes Over. Someone asked The Eagles when they were going to get back together, and they said "When hell freezes over." That's how this album got its name. But at least they're here to perform some of their best songs live on this album. Most of the songs on this album are live, and most of the live ones are done well, especially the songs that Don Henley sang. Some of the songs such as "I Can't Tell You Why" and "In The City" sound almost as flawless as they do on the radio. There's also some new songs on this album, including the Grammy nominated "Love Will Keep Us Alive." You can tell by the crowd uproars in the audience at the end of all the live songs that The Eagles could still be almost as popular today if they were to get back together as they were back in their heyday. I hope Hell Freezes Over isn't their last reunion, but if it is, it's a great album to end their legendary careers. If you're an Eagles fan, I recommend getting Hell Freezes Over. It's a great live album.
Free Music Review: Don, Glenn, Joe, Tim, & Don, 'nuff said! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm not sure that I can say anything that the other 69 people haven't already said about this 15 song work of art. Just an unbelievable live album, probably the best live recording ever. These songs really need no introduction, because they're such well known classics. 'Tequila Sunrise', 'Hotel California', Take It Easy', 'Life In The Fast Lane' and 'Desperado' are 5 superb classics played to absolute perfection. The 11 live songs on this album sound as good as a studio recording,(they're that great). 'Wasted Time' and 'I Can't Tell You Why' are a couple more of my fav songs on here. There are 4 newly recorded studio tracks on here: 'Get Over It', which has a cool guitar- intro, and Don Henley ripping it up on vocals. 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' is one of the most beautiful ballads of all time, and a true instant Eagles classic. 'The Girl From Yesterday'(G. Frey) and 'Learn To Be Still'(D. Henley) are both grade-A musical perfection. I can't recommend this one enough, it is truly enjoyable to listen to time after time. If you don't have it, you know what to do. ROCK ON!
Free Music Review: The Best Album of the 90's...Hands Down Hit: 5 Stars
The Eagles, one of the most famed bands of the 70s, and perhaps ever, did an awful thing to music by breaking up and promising they would not reunite til Hell Froze Over. This album is truly the best of the 90's. Forget Nevermind by Nirvana, no one should be without this right here. Don Henley's voice has become stronger since the days and Glenn Frye is still amazing in all he does. "Hotel California," is amazing on this album, but I believe the standout is "The Last Resort." The song is Henley's time to shine and I think he shines on it more than his big hit, "Desperado." "New York Minute," "Take It Easy," "Life In The Fast Lane," and "I Can't Tell You Why," are all amazing on this album and sound great with a much more mature and obviously much more SOBER eagles. This is a perfect CD with no flaws and nothing they should be ashamed of.
