Free Music Review: A beautiful & serene experience

This album is so polished and clean it's hard to believe that it's really a live album. Songs like `Hotel California' and the closing track `Desperado' are so beautifully arranged and executed that you feel as though your there, in the audience, you own little private live session. This is actually the first Eagles album I've ever listened to. I've never been a fan of 70's rock but my best friend just uploaded this album onto my computer yesterday and told me to give it a try. Reluctantly I did, but that reluctance turned into thankfulness. This is a great album, not just because it's polished and clean but because musically it's brilliant. I'm a new fan, and can't wait to hear more. And I do agree with the masses, `Hotel California' (one of the only Eagles songs I had heard prior to this morning) is truly one of the greatest songs ever penned...and on this disc it's at it's grandest.Free Music Review: Audio Nirvana -- Great "System Test" CD

This recording is one of the best pop recordings available on CD. When analyzing high-end audio equipment, this is one of a handful that I absolutely must audition with.Clear, tight, dynamic, you name it. Listen to the beginning of track 6, "Hotel California", especially right after 32 seconds into the track. If you have a really good system, you will probably get your hairs to stand on end.
Oh, the music itself? First class, of course. The best songs of the Eagles and all sound nice. My favorite is "Pretty Maids All In A Row" with "New York Minute" and "The Last Resort" just behind it. Of course, "Hotel California" sounds great, almost better than the original recording.
This album MUST be in your collection if you like popular music or even classic rock.

I waited half my life for this band to reunite -- they finally did it, and in a BIG WAY, playing to sold out concerts halls in the early nineties. HELL FREEZES OVER gives us all what we expected from one of the music world's best known, most played and dearly loved bands. The Eagles' songs defined growing up for many of us, and you will easily remember the words to all the songs on this great cd. The live version of HOTEL CALIFORNIA brings their instrumental talent to center stage, and even their new release, LOVE WILL KEEP US ALIVE, became a hit once people became excited about the reunion.
If you've loved the Eagles since their Hotel California days, then this CD is a must have. And if you never gave them a listen, get this collection as a great starting point!

If you were a fan of the Eagles back in the 70's and 80's you probably know the meaning behind the title. For those of you that don't, when The Eagles took "a break" from playing together in the early 80's they did so because of a lot of fighting. When asked when they would play together again the response was "When hell freezes over!".
The full concert that's on this CD is their first performance (talk about guts!) back together again. The song selection, performances and audio are amazing. I loved all the old classics but also loved the new song "Get Over It" which came from "Watching too much daytime tv where there are way too many stupid people with way too many stupid problems".

This is a good album (my second Eagles album), but I do not like it as much as the bestselling "Their greatest hits", each and every song that is featured on both of those albums, the version that is on the greatest hits album seems better and slightly more alive, to me. But there are other good songs on here: Hotel California, Get over it, New York Minute, Learn to be Still and Wasted Time are all really good songs that make this a good purchase. Love will keep us alive and I can't tell you why are the only two songs that I don't really enjoy listening to, on this Album... but that is not to say that some of my friends don't enjoy them.. I recommend this Album, but not as much as I recommend "their greatest hits".
