The music of The Eagles mainly defined the California sound of the 70's. For them to reunite was like a dream come true, according to many of their fans.That dream came alive in 1994. With the release of Hell Freezes Over, The Eagles signature sound was revived on mainstream radio. The album contains live material from all of their classic hits, including their version of Don Henley's solo hit, New York Minute, and four newly recorded songs: Get Over It, The Girl From Yesterday, Love Will Keep Us Alive, and Learn To Be Still.
While most of the 90's music remained as Hip Hop, Rap, and Teen Idols, it was so nice to see one of the most legendary bands of music history come back to the top. I'm so glad that The Eagles did just that.

I continue to be amazed at how timeless the Eagle's music is. This "live" album is surprising in that nearly 25 years after their glory days of the 70's, they can still sing and play as well today as they did then. If you can get the video of the concert from which this album was made, buy it. Watching them play and sing is as pleasurable as hearing the familiar soft country rock songs that are so familiar and welcome. The harmonies and guitar work are outstanding. No one band should have this much song writing and guitar playing talent. No wonder their "Best Of" album from the early 70's is now the best selling album of all time. How anyone can give this album less than 5 stars, is beyond me. A truly excellent album by one of America's best rock bands ever. The first 4 songs are newly penned songs for this album, recorded in the studio in 1994. Of the four, my favourite is "Love will keep us alive", but they are all great. Then, starting with "Tequila Sunrise" they shift to a live concert. Finally after 14 years they are back and performing like they'd never been apart. The highlight is definately the stripped down accoustic "Hotel California". This song is worth the price of this album alone. It has to be heard to be appreciated. Mere words cannot describe. It is nearly impossible to put into words just how great this album is, but i'm going to try. I bought this CD soon after it was released in late '94, and let me tell you it "Just doesn't get any better than this"! This album is vintage Eagles, Don Henley and Glenn Frey have never been better. It has 4 new tracks recorded in the studio, and 11 of their greatest hits recorded live. It was their first concert together in almost 14 years, but it sounds like they only took a weekend vacation. The chemistry that this band has is truly amazing. Eagles fan or no, If you don't own this album, you MUST add this to your collection PRONTO! You won't be disappointed!Free Music Review: this is no fluke

as a former musician this album is as good as it gets and I have played with the likes of chicago,grand funk,steppenwolf and many more.have even been around when joe walsh came out with the james gang.this is top shelf Eagles perfection,not to say other albums don't rate,quite contrary,each have their own distinct sounds but this is extra ordinary.whether you have others or seen live this CD is a keeper for sure.my efforts to percieve this kind of sound with my own band fell short.not by much but no cigar.this is most definately a must have for every music lover or enthusist.I listen to it anytime almost anywhere.Put simply:ITS GREAT
