Free Music Review: Why Aren't They Big Yet?

I have been listening to Earth To Andy for over 2 years. I discovered their music by accident when I lived in Virginia. I took they day off from work to drive a friend of mine 2 hours to see Big Wreck in Charlottsville, VA. I'm not a Big Wreck fan, so I was not looking forward to the show. Little did I know that the opening band would blow me away. At the time ETA had no record label. They were promoting their independent self titled release. I ended up seeing them about 4 times before I moved to FL. I regret that they don't come down this far south often. Luckily, I was able to pick up their second independent release, Simple Machine, before I left. Simple Machine sustained me for a few months before I walked into a record store and discovered their major label debut, Chronicle Kings. I was happy to see they had signed on with a big label, no band worked as hard or deserved it more. Chronicle Kings only contained 5 songts that were new to me. I wasn't disappointed because it would give new fans a chance to hear some of the best material from their 2 independent releases. So far this hasn't happened. For some reason this record has not been heavily promoted. I see no reason that rock radio won't play their music. They blow away most of the new music out there. It's disheartening when cookie cutter boy bands can top the charts and quality music goes unnoticed. Hopefully the record industry and the fans will wise up and give this band their due. ETA blends Beatlesque melodies and harmonies with Zeppelinesque riffs. They have to be heard to be believed. Pick up Chronicle Kings. If you are a rock fan, you will not be disappointed. You just might be tempted to track down their independent releases, 2 full length cd's and an ep.
