Free Music Notes for Echo & The Bunnymen

Free Music Review: Our Costumes Change to Uniforms
Hit: 5 Stars

This is, far and above, my favorite Bunnymen album.

I guess my main complaint with their earlier works was the Ian's voice sounded too uncontrolled, and that the band seemed incapable of restraining themselves. But here, they're pursuing a much more subdued, lighter sound. Tracks such as "New Direction," "Lost and Found," and "Bomber's Bay" all have a refined, skillful, and emotional sound to them that comes mainly from the band drawing back their previous energy.

Not that this album is mellow: the lyrics are as bitter as ever (though more sensical), and there's plenty of fire and fury present in tracks like "The Game" and "Over You." On top of all that, "All in Your Mind" is a fiery, blistering ideological piece, as well as being the best song the Jesus and Mary Chain never made.

All in all, an amazing album from a band that defined their era- even if it's nothing like the music they defined.

Free Music Review: this is their best 5 Stars

ocean rain!,ocean rain!,thats all you hear from people who "sup(pose)dly" like echo and the bunny men.im here to tell you that the grey album is a more cohesive & melodic effort than ocean rain.dont get me wrong,i like ocean rain, but this is a better album, period!!!this album is more melodic and the songs are fully realized.this was the last truly great postpunk album of the 80s and by echo.also check out candleland and mysterio(ians first and second solo efforts)if you like this.both of those are true gems!!

Free Music Review: New Direction? To say the least!
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, somehow they managed to make this album even better the second time around! Great sound quality and fantastic bonus tracks. Only one complaint: no lyrics this time. I guess that's a small price considering the great songs on this CD. "Lips Like Sugar", "Over You", "New Direction" have all stood the test of time and sound just as good in 2003 as they did in 1987! 'Nuff said. Buy this one and enjoy!!

Free Music Review: Iconic and Irreplaceable!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the greatest 80's Brit bands to ever emerge from this era. Their music is iconic and quite inspirational for many bands of today. This cd has it all, with the exception of my other favorite, 'The Killing Moon' ... and I adore the early version of 'Bring on the Dancing Horses' entitled 'Jimmy Brown'. The artwork is great too! This is a must have for any Echo fan!

Free Music Review: Brings back the old days
Hit: 5 Stars

I remebered this as being one of my favorite bads growing up. I couldn't for the life of me find my copy so I ordered a new one. Great response time by Amazon.com. It was so neat to put the CD in my car and remember every word to every song like it was the old days.
