Free Music Notes for Music for the Motion Picture Into the WildFree Music Review: Short, but genius. Just like Eddie Vedder. Hit: 5 Stars
This is the music I've been waiting for from Eddie Vedder. The richness of voice matched with the passsion of his performance and lyrics with substance touch me in ways that Pearl Jam does not. He has produced other music with those elements, but here his warmth and sincerity are not competing with heavy rock sound. A few of the songs really remind me of John Lennon. No Ceiling would fit right in on Revolver. The first few months I owned the album, I considered it quiet and contemplative. After seeing four of his solo shows, I turn it way up and it has a whole different energy. The shortness of the album has an easy fix: hit play again.
Free Music Review: Soundtrack of the year Hit: 5 Stars
INTO THE WILD is easily my favorite film of 2007. The story of Christopher McCandless is absolutely heartbreaking. Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder provides his musical talents to the Sean Penn film, creating an acoustic sound that captures the essence of the film. I never really was a fan of Pearl Jam and never will be but I absolutely loved Eddie's solo work for the film. Eddie's solo acoustic work is a far cry from the monotonous drones of Pearl Jam. His lyrics really captured the story of Christopher McCandless and his journey across America and eventually into Alaska. Love the book, film, and now the soundtrack.
Free Music Review: Yet another Eddie Vedder Masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
I will keep this review short. This is not a Pearl Jam CD. It does not have the composition of a Pearl Jam CD. It is what it is...Brilliant.
Eddie Vedder took the feel of the book(which I read) and wrote a soundtrack to the essence that it portrayed. Honestly seperate from the movie this CD could be the soundtrack to a nature hike. It is the perfect companion when you are driving in your car on a long trip or even when you are cleaning the house. The songs are mild, yet aggressive. I would recommend this CD to anyone with good taste in music. It can be appreciated on several different levels.
Free Music Review: A Pleasant Suprise Hit: 5 Stars
I admit I hadn't even heard of the book, movie, or CD until Amazon e-mailed me to inform me of the upcoming CD release (thanks Amazon!!!). Being a huge PJ fan, I was ecstatic to say the least. Once I heard the premise of the movie, I was very much intrigued. The CD tells the story beautifully. Some songs are uplifting while others are dark and somber. It truly is captivating and displays not only Eddie's incredible voice but his immense songwriting abilities. If you appreciate PJ's softer side, you will very much enjoy this CD. Yes the album is short, but you can fix that by pushing play again.
Free Music Review: This Couldn't Have Come at a Better Time Hit: 5 Stars
The lyrics and musical accompanyment in this cd will absolutely grab anyone who is a wanderer. It almost seems that Eddie Vedder gets into McCandless's mind and sings it out for all of us to hear. Some of the lyrics in the songs just stick out and stay with you forever:
" gonna rise up/ find my direction magnetically."
" all my destinations will accept the one thats me/ so i can breathe "
" I knew all the rules but the rules did not know me, GUARANTEED "
so many to think of that are so quotable. AMAZING buy. more like an investment in my opinion.
