Free Music Notes for Music for the Motion Picture Into the WildFree Music Review: Eddie Vedder reaches a new high Hit: 5 Stars
I am an old school Eddie Vedder fan and although it's been years since I've listened to him, that remarkably familiar and beautiful sweet baritone vibrato was easily recognizable while in the theater, seeing this amazing film for the first time. This collection of songs is deep, beautiful, and moving, as it links the story of a tragic young life to the film. I only know of a few truly great albums that tell a story from beginning to end, and it gives such a human connection to the music you're listening to. Eddie Vedder is, in my opinion, as good as he's ever been.
Free Music Review: Awesome Solo album Hit: 5 Stars
Heard about Eddie Vedders solo attempt back in 2007 when it came out. Didn't think much of it at the time, as most solo attempts are not worthy of a listen. But recently I heard "society" on satellite radio. I was like, wow... that sounds like EV. Sure enough I downloaded the ablum and can't stop listening to it. It definatly has the raw Vedder sound and until today didn't realize that he plays all the instruments on the ablum.... awesome! A true artist. I have the "Into The Wild" DVD at home and can't wait to watch it after hearing the soundtrack. GREAT ABLUM!
Free Music Review: Amazing... Hit: 5 Stars
This is an incredible album. It's definitely on the mellow side but great nonehteless. One of the biggest complaints people have is that the album is very short. This is definitely true but it's about the quality, not the quantity. I'd rather spend $10 on a half hour album that I'm going to listen to repeatedly rather than on a 2 hour long album that stinks and would better serve as a coaster on my coffee table. A must have!! For comparison, listen to the track Just Breathe on Back Spacer, Pearl Jam's latest album. That song is exactly like this album. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Wonderful Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
I liked Pearl Jam when I was growing up and always enjoyed Eddie Vedder's voice.
The "Into The Wild" soundtrack is Eddie on his own with almost a dozen songs that are mostly shorter acoustic pieces.
His music really worked well in the movie and also as a stand alone record. Haunting and thoughtful pieces. Setting Forth is a great song and The Wolf is very interesting piece.
If you are a Pearl Jam Fan, more so when they moved into their newer sounds on recent records, you will like this and it is highly recommended.
Free Music Review: Magnificant Eddie! Hit: 5 Stars
Eddie could sing "Mary had a Little Lamb" and it would be perfect. In the 12 years that I've been a PJ fan, there isn't any song I've heard him sing that isn't brillantly done (even when the particular song hasn't been that great). This CD showcases his song writing and vocal talents so simply done, yet so powerful and moving. Can'd decide which song I like the most. They all speak in different ways. Thanks Eddie for sharing your awe inspiring talents with us. We are so not worthy. :-)
CD con: 33 minutes is way too short! We want more!!!
