This recently released cd Little Edie Live is a sure fire Grey Gardens treasure. Walter Newkirk a Rutgers senior did an amazing interview with little Edie Beale of Grey Gardens fame. This cd takes us back to the days of little Edie prior to her mother's death and little Edie is so comfortable with Mr. Newkirk that words and memories simply flow from her as she relaxes with him. One would never know this interview took place well over 30 years ago in a run down mansion. Little Edie obviously enjoyed her time with Mr. Newkirk who generously decided to release this interview for all fans of Grey Gardens who are hungry for any information about the Edies and their fascinating lives.
His interviewing skills are so enticing to little Edie that she's happy to share her thoughts in a very natural manner which makes the listener eager to hang onto her every word.
This cd is a "must have" for any Grey Gardens fan; surely an asset to any collection of these amazing women who have struggled through their lives. Miss Beale is as brilliant as she ever was and Mr. Newkirk's interviewing skills bring out the best in little Edie!
Don't think twice about ordering this cd to hear for yourself something we have all waited many years to hear. Find a comfortable chair and relax while you revisit Grey Gardens!

Listening to this CD is like discovering a long lost treasure. You feel as if you acutally sitting in the same room with a group of close friends from the past. Answers to many things that went unanswered in the film and any previous interviews are candidly and openly discussed (Jackie, Lee, Jerry Torre, etc.) which should definitley satify the curiosity of any Grey Gardens fan.
The sound quality here is excellent. The dialogue is crisp, and you can actually hear the creaking floors, meowing cats and the hollow echos while walking through the rooms inside Grey Gardens. The reviewer who complained about this must have a very poor player or be extremely hard of hearing. The wispering by Little Edie during a small part of this interview is very minimal. I believe it adds to realisum, and mystery of this intriging personality. I'm sure it will be the basis of many discussions among Little Edie fans. Much like the film, the more you listen, the more you hear. This CD should become the 'cult classic companion' to the documentary. Facininating stuff!

This CD is a must for all die-hard fans of Edie Beale.She and her Mother, Big Edie, were just DIVINE DIVAS!! The CD consists of two college fellows interviewing Edie jr. It is amusing,and interesting.Edie expounds her wit and wisdom on a variety of topics,in a tone very similar to her cousin Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis. She at times,talks in a kittenish whisper,so do use headphones.Trust me, you do not want to miss a second of this gem of a recording!Again, if you are a fan of the Grey Gardens films, you will LOVE this! Also,may I suggest a book sold at Amazon, written by Lois Wright,who actually lived at Grey Gardens, for 13 months,with Big,and Little Edie.This, in addition to the Edie Live CD, will be super additions to your collection! This is really a lost treasure! Little Edie Beale live and uncut! What a wonderful look into Edie's post Grey Gardens (movie) life. Put in your ear buds and listen as she whispers right in your ear. It's so sweet to hear her interacting with this group of college guys, reminiscing about her own college days and the guys she dated. There are some background noises and such but considering this was taped on a hand held tape recorder over 30 years ago, the sound is pretty good. What a great companion to the movie and the play. It takes up where the movie and the musical left off. Dealing with the aftermath of the movie release! It it great to hear Little Edie uninterrupted. It is such a fun recording. Like being a fly on the wall. I especially love when she whispers to he interviewer. It was great to hear about her friendship with Andy Warhol and Liz Taylor and Gerald Ford. It paints such a different picture on what you thought Little Edie was about! Don't Miss it!
