I purchased this DVD That Latin Sound by Edmundo Ros and am very disappointed. I got it for my son for Father's Day as he enjoys Latin music. Edmundo Ros's voice was awful. His voice has totally gone and whilst my son was listening to it, he said he had to turn it off.
I wish there was some way we could listen to some tracks before buying music.

Edmundo Ros has a wonderful easy listening style that is the best.
Edmundo Ros and his Rumba Band was the talk of the town in London in the 1940s, 1950's and 1960s when he operated the The "Edmundo Ros Dinner and Supper Club" and had shows on the BBC.
He was one of the first to record the popular tunes of the day and Broadway songs in the latin style and rhythms.
We keep on trying to find CD of his previously released LP's. They are a treasure.

I bought this CD out of nostalgia in wanting to hear Edmundo Ros playing again. The music selection includes some of the very popular latin music in the forties and fifties. Songs like Brazil and La Paloma you can never be tired of and can admit that they are still well played and recorded.
All the music are played in the famous Edmundo Ros easy listening style. I still remember in the fifies the radio would feature Edmundo Ros every Sunday for you to enjoy with your beer or gin and tonic.
In those days most of the popular latin rhythm were rhumbas, boleros and sambas. Cha chas and Mambos were just starting to be popular.
