Free Music Notes for Electric Dreams - SoundtrackFree Music Review: love them 80's Hit: 5 Stars
There's so much great stuff on this album that I snapped up the CD 15 years ago when I stumbled across it in Berlin. So much good stuff here...Helen Terry really letting loose, Jeff Lynne showing the best of his 80's side ("Let it Run" flat out rocks...think "Don't Bring Me Down") and there's a catchy as anything instrumental by Heaven 17. Maybe the best though is the title track, which I saw The Human League close their Radio City show with a few years ago and it absolutely brought the house down. Couldn't believe how many people knew what I thought was a pretty obscure track!
Free Music Review: Good Songs Hit: 5 Stars
I happen to like the movie thought it is 25 years old now. One of the strong points was the mix of songs and they are all here. Mainly ballads but the ending Eletric Dreams has a good beat. A couple of good Cultyre Club songs. If you have not seen the movie it is still a good song collection.
I really got it for my wife who likes the song Electric Dreams but has not seen the money so I got both.
The CD is pressed in the UK and there is not much liner notes with it but the songs are good.
Free Music Review: Electric Dreams - Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
i remember way back in the 80's watching this as a very small and impressionable kiddy with my mum, dad, aunty&uncle at the Odean pictures in Coventry England. i cried my eyes out and went home and balled some more onto my commodore 64 - ironically named edgar! from then on i was addicted to the soundtrack and my "A" key was never the same!"The Duel" and "Madeleine's Theme" are a beautiful introduction to the cello and still favourites. Enjoy..its worth the dollars.
Free Music Review: And it's Great on an iPod Hit: 5 Stars
I have the movie on my iPod touch and it's sweet to be able to crank up this wonderful music, especially Jeff Lynn's, while watching it anywhere. Bud Cort was an excellent Edgar, vicious and lovable and of course Virginia Madsen went on to bigger and better things. What is surprising is that although computing has come a very long way since, the movie and the music aren't all that dated; both are still great fun, and the rock music still rocks!
Free Music Review: Computing Spirit of the 80's Hit: 5 Stars
The 80's and computers were a magical time. At this time, we had little conception of how this technology would turn our life into a living hell. Is this movie a foreshadowing of the things to come? The movie and soundtrack are the spirit of the 80's, at least as far as computing goes. It would be nice to buy a Electric Dreams DVD, but I guess the soundtrack will have to do for now. :(
