Free Music Review: Getting back to the roots of Christmas

First Christmas is a Pagan holiday in origin and many of us claim it as such. It is delicious irony. Of course it is a Pagan nature celebration. Right around the Winter Solstice, the Chirstmas tree, wreaths, Santa Claus (the Greenman). Christ wasn't even suppose to be born around December 25th.
Anyhow I occasionally feel like a grinch around Xmas because I can not take the overly religious tunes. Some of them are just WAYYYYYY too much if you listen to the lyrics.
In any event winter can be a magical time and there are so many fun, joyous, wonderful Xmas songs. The 3 I like best are Sleigh Ride, Let it Snow, and Winter Wonderland. This has all 3. It took me some time to get use to Winter Wonderland one of my favorites. It is a country version and a bit slower than I am use to but after a few listenings I liked it. The first Sleigh Ride track is superb and Let it Snow is good as well.
If you want a joyful selection that will not gag people of any background or people who don't want to be hit over the head with the lord this the lord that, get this wonderful collection.

I'm not one who goes all out at Christmas, I think it's so exploited these days that I tend to hold out on the Christmas spirit as long as possible. So last Tuesday I got THIS CD and decided I'd listen to it before work. In fact, I listened to the CD twice so by the time I was at work I was gone. Let's just say the next day a lot of people in my office questioned who cut out and pasted all the snowflakes. I haven't made paper snowflakes in like 14 years. Coincidence? I don't think so. I just recommend you have some Christmas decorations or at least a lot of white paper and scissors around before you start listening to this CD, that's all I'm sayin'!Free Music Review: A voice from 1940s heaven

Can you believe that voice, I was never a real big fan (although I do like it) of the 40s genre music, but WOW I am now!!! I was completely amazed at the voice of that Zooey!!! I MUST have a CD with her singing ANYTHING. Not only is she cute but that girl can sing with the best of them, I now want to go buy a CD of the "Rat Pack" just to hold me over. We should have had the pleasure of her singing "Santa Baby" wouldn't that have been great.OH yeah the movie was really good too, one that we will soon own, mostly to hear Zooey crooning, but one that will entertain year after year. My ten year old boy even melted when he heard her voice!!

This soundtrack showcases some great singers of past eras belting out holiday classics.It is a great soundtrack that will instantly put you into the Christmas spirit.
I agree that they should have just put in the duet from the movie with Zooey and Will, but then again you can't argue with Leon Redbone.
This is a Christmas cd that people from any generation can appreciate and will be appreciated for many Christmas' to come.
And the movie is hilarious, I could not stop laughing, Will Ferrell is a comedic genious and James Caan does a great job as usual.

This is a fantastic album and a must buy. We pop this into the cd player (yes, how low tech~!:) every holiday season, and ride down the highway bouncing around singing. My kids love this album and know all the words because we listen to it over and over etc... You will not regret getting this album and I knew when we saw the movie we had to have it. Our personal favorite's are Pennies from Heaven and the Santa Claus Party on the second half of Sleigh Ride~! Corny but a lot of fun:) Moms favorite being Santa Baby~LOL!
