The "Dreamer" CD, featuring Eliane Elias is a lush, elegant and serene presentation, which has consistent quality in every track! Ms. Elias is a wonderful musical talent, with a subtle, sensual vocal style that needs no dramatic pyrotechnics to breathe life into everything she sings on this CD. "Dreamer" will cause you to "fall in love" all over again, and also to learn what true musicianship used to be, and which has, sadly, been lacking on the broader "music-scene", in recent years. I literally overheard Eliane Elias while browsing at a Borders Bookstore. I bought this CD and have been playing it almost nonstop ever since. That was well over a year ago. I'm very much in danger of wearing out the tracks on this CD. Particularly lovely are her renditions of "Photograph", "So Nice" and surprisingly for me, the instrumental only rendition of "A House is Not a Home". Can you imagine the magic that would have been created with Eliane Elias and the late Sarah Vaughan paired up to do piano and vocals respectively on this much underrated classic of a song?
A real keeper, this one.

Ever since I saw Eliane Elias live in a Calle 54 concerts, along
with other musicians, I'm a sucker for her great soulful jazz.
In this new CD, Dreamer, she plays American Standards, along with
her nods to Jobim and a couple of originals, and I must say that
she does it with style, with such an exquisite class that stands
by itself. Simply put, DREAMER, is, by far, the best album I've
bought in the last couple of years. In it, Ms. Elias matches perfectly her piano playing and her voice, bringing her music to new heights. Ms.Elias is a rare instance in which beauty and talent match perfectly, and DREAMER is a must for those dreamers
like me that crave for perfection.

Her husky, sensual voice is perfect in the setting. She plays the piano ever so lightly.
The 11-th song is a piano instrumental that's worth checking out on the sampler, it's so easy going, yet with a friendly feeling.
