Free Music Notes for You Are My FlowerFree Music Review: Why are you still reading? Buy this CD already! Hit: 5 Stars
Not that it hasn't been said by the other reviewers who came before me, but this is my (and my son's) favorite music. He (19 months) has been listening to this CD and the "You Are My Sunshine" CD since he joined us in this world. He is entertained and soothed by them, as am I. One of his first words was "cah-cah", to go with his favorite song on one of the two disks. People should really get both disks, not just one. The songs are simple but their choices of instruments and unique arrangements and extremely clever -- and a bit more intricate than you might realize at first listen. I listen to it even when my son is not around, and often hear something new I hadn't before. I also have to say that I feel much better when I'm caught singing something from this CD under my breath at the grocery store rather than "Six Little Ducks That I Once Knew."
Free Music Review: You owe it to your kids Hit: 5 Stars
If you don't have children of your own buy this brilliant cd for any child you know--heck, buy it for kids you pass on the street, it might just change their lives. We have a decently well stocked children's music collection filled with stuff we love (and stuff we just like)-- Pete Seeger, Sweet Honey, Woody, Free to Be You and Me. . . we even got a Raffi or two in there. Hands down, this cd is our two year old's favorite. She requests it at least once a day and sings and dances along. The only other one that comes close is Dan Zane's "Family Dance" which you should proceed to buy right after this one. Songs you can fall in love with along with your kids -- Now how much children's music can you say that about?
Free Music Review: delicious Hit: 5 Stars
Our daughter is nearly a year old and we've been playing this CD for her since she was 2 or 3 months old. Even when she was that tiny, all I had to do was sing the phrase "You are My Flower" and she would break into the most delighted smiles. This past weekend, I brought the CD to a sleepover with five other babies (and their grown-ups) and as some of the older folk made breakfast, the others waltzed around with their babies on their hips, jiggling them to "little sack of sugar" and chugging along on "Freight train." It's great stuff: sweet but not cloying, soothing but never dull. You can happily listen to it again and again.
Free Music Review: great for children AND paretns Hit: 5 Stars
There is only so much Wonder Pets, "Old McDonald" and "I'm a Little Teapot" I can take before I go crazy! Elizabeth Mitchell's CDs (we also listen to her albums "You are my Sunshine" and "You are my Little Bird") are a wonderful alternative to annoying children's music. Her songs are beautiful and fun to sing along to. My three year old has learned the words to most of the songs and loves them! I also sing some of Elizabeth's songs as lullabies to my baby at bedtime and they are great for soothing her to sleep.
Elizabeth Mitchell's CDs are must haves for all parents who want to listen to GOOD music with their children!
Free Music Review: it brings a smile to my daughter's face Hit: 5 Stars
Without a doubt, this is the best children's CD I've heard...and it is clearly my 18-month-old daughter's favorite record. Just hearing the first few bars of the CD brings a smile to her face...and also seems to calm her down regardless of what tantrums may have preceded it.All the songs are covers, but they're not the usual boring lullaby covers. Instead, we get soft, soothing, warm, and often wispy renditions of songs like "This Little Light of Mine," "Freight Train," and "Shoo Fly," and "Pony Boy." This was a real find.
