Free Music Notes for Ellis Island

Free Music Review: Music For The Soul
Hit: 5 Stars

I have never seen the PBS special nor had I ever heard any song from Ellis Island. I purchased it because I have really enjoyed the Irish Tenors previous albums. The first time I heard it I was nearly blown away. My ancestors came from Ireland and I could picture their arrival in the beautiful lyrics of Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears. There are happy songs and sad songs but the one that brought tears to my eyes and the saddest song I think that I have ever heard was the Green Fields of France. This will become one of my favorite CDs and I have quite a few. I can't imagine anyone not LOVING this beautiful music.

Free Music Review: Spectacular!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is by far the best of The Irish Tenors CD's. The song selections run the gambit from lighthearted fare like "Courtin' in the Kitchen" to haunting melodies such as "Machusla". The vocal artistry of Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan is showcased thoughout this CD. This is not a live CD recording as were their Dublin and Belfast CD's. However, having had the privilege of attending the Ellis Island Video taping, I can say that this CD definitely invokes the same feelings and emotions in the listener as if they were there.

A definite must have for any fan of this fabulous group.

Free Music Review: Another Smash
Hit: 5 Stars

The strong pitch perfect voices of this collection are beyond belief. Ronan's haunting beautiful voice on "My Wild Irish Rose" made me play it 3 times in a row when I first heard it. Finbar's projecting voice on Forty Shades of Green will make you set back and take notice. The medleys will have you swaying in time... you can't help it. This group's music has earned a place in my precious hard drive space so I can hear my favorites over and over again when computing. If you enjoy Irish music or just really appreciate wonderful singing voices...buy this one!

Free Music Review: The Irish Tenors at Ellis Island (AWESOME)
Hit: 5 Stars

The Irish Tenors have outdone themselves. This is easily the top album of the year. The ancient Celtic songs are haunting and they perform them with such harmony and feeling. The range of Anthony Kearns is unbelievable. His Macushla is heart stopping, not to mention Love Thee Dearest. They are all above reproach under the very capable brilliant direction of Frank McNamara. This is a must in your collection and deserves a grammy. I was lucky to be at the taping at Ellis Island and have listened to the CD many, many times. I would give it much more than 5 stars.

Free Music Review: Amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

This third Irish Tenors collection is, I think, the best yet. The song selection is wonderful and their voices sound better and richer than ever. It's difficult to select highlights when everything sounds so good, but my favorites include "Forty Shades of Green" by Finbar Wright, "The Green Fields of France" by Ronan Tynan and "The Courtin' Medley" by the trio. And Anthony Kearns' version of "Love Thee Dearest" brings me to tears every time. If you've enjoyed the previous Irish Tenors albums, this one is a must.
