Free Music Review: Terrific Rendition of the Irish Tenors

Upon receiving this CD and listening to it, I found it to be equally good as other Irish Tenor recordings. This CD makes me want to return to Cobh and review in more detail the history of the first Irish to depart their home country (brave souls they were) and embark upon an unknown adventure. If you are interested in Irish history, you will find this recording to be quite a "find". I certainly have been enjoying it and am planning my next trip to the EMERALD ISLE.

This new recording adds a new dimension both in vocal quality and entertainment value - showcasing the superlative talent and charismatic personalities of these three gentlemen. Personally I believe that Anthony is the magic ingredient in this ensemble however I must concede that Finbar and Ronan are also outstanding ambassadors of our Isle taking Irish music and culture to new international heights. A glorious concert in a historic setting, with all involved in top notch form. Finbar finds a great old Johnny Cash number, Ronan sings a Glocka
Mora to end all, and Anthony Kearns sings murderously difficult versions
of Macushla and The Croppy Boy like an angel. And their Courtin' and Irish
Medleys, and their "Nation Once Again" trios are simply glorious glees.
With the benefit of a grand theme, this is perhaps the best, and best balanced, of all their programs.

I love this CD!! The Tenors have outdone themselves. I own all thier CDs, and this is the best. I love them all, but I love this one even more. I don't have a favorite song, as all the songs are my favorites. But if I had to choose, it would be "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears" sung by the group. It is very personal to me because my grandfather came to America from Denmark at the age of 16 years old. The young person in the song is 15 years. I would absolutely recommend this CD.Free Music Review: Better and Better

This third album of the Irish Tenors is without question their best yet. If they keep this up, where will they stop? I was most impressed with the way three operatic tenors could harmonize with recognizably different voices and let us hear each one. The song selection goes from fun to heartbreaking. The trio in "Irish" is delightful. This album shows Finbar Wright's full, beautiful voice to good advantage. And gives us a preview Anthony Kearns potential.
