Free Music Notes for Aloha From Hawaii - Via SatelliteFree Music Review: Defintive Elvis concert album. Hit: 5 Stars
If you had to pick just one Elvis concert album out of all the ones out there, this is the one to pick. This concert when it was aired back in January 1973 watched by over 1.5 billion people. There is no reason why you should pass this up. 29 great tracks from a historical concert that was a landmark in the King's career! This album, when first released, went to #1 on the album charts. The last time he had a #1 album was back in 1964 with the soundtrack to "Roustabout". From the first global broadcast ever, this is one special concert you should not miss. I bought this CD yesterday and I loved it. It's 75 1/2 minutes long and worth the money. "Aloha From Hawaii via Satellite" should definetly be in your Elvis music collection.
Free Music Review: The best concert of his career! Hit: 5 Stars
What I should do is buy this CD. All I have now are "selections" of the concert; I rented the video and copied a portion, eliminating "You Gave Me a Mountain," "It's Over," and "American Trilogy." I also left out the songs from "Blue Hawaii" at the end of this CD from my CD. Nevertheless, the portion of the show that I do have is exceptional. Elvis had never looked better, played better, or sounded better than in this concert from Hawaii. Also, being a big Beatles fan as well, I thought his cover of "Something" was not only very good, but quite appropriate, as this was only a few years after they broke up. This was the last good Elvis concert.
Free Music Review: The Greatest Musical Event Ever! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the soundtrack for the greatest concert in the history of the free world. Done in Honalulu, Hawaii in January of 1973, "Elvis, Aloha From Hawaii" was broadcast all over the world. (Though tape delayed in North America) This 25th anniversary edition is the one to buy because of the extra tracks that were included in the North American delay broadcast. These songs, include "Early Morning Rain", "No More", "Ku-U-I-Po", "Hawaiian Wedding Song" and "Blue Hawaii", the latter four from the "Blue Hawaii soundtrack. This is got to be the greatest concert ever.....enough said!GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Free Music Review: A perfect introduction to the perfect entertainer Hit: 5 Stars
Aloha From Hawaii is one of the first Elvis CDs I bought seven years ago as a 19 year-old discovering this sensational performer. I recommend either this or Elvis In Concert from 1977 as the first live purchase. Other reviewers point out that Elvis gave better performances elsewhere, they are correct, but this concert is historic and the passion that Elvis conveys through these songs is simply breathtaking. In 2004 a deluxe DVD set will come out showcasing this performance of Aloha From Hawaii as well as the rehersal from a few days before. Until that long-awaited DVD comes out, enjoy this great show on CD.
Free Music Review: Great job RCA! Hit: 5 Stars
I had always been dissappionted with this release over the years with the bad sound it had on the original album. when i had finally heard that RCA was remastering this cd I still was sceptical. well, when I played the new version of this FANTASTIC concert, I was blown away! this new mix KILLS the old dry sound of the original album. I've always said that RCA never must have spent a lot of time mixing and mastering Elvis albums the way he should have sounded in the first place. Finally, this concert sounds the way it should have sounded then. TOTALLY FANTASTIC!
