Free Music Notes for Elv1s 30 #1 HitsFree Music Review: A breathtaking listening experience! Hit: 5 Stars
With the release of JXL's remix of "A little less conversation", the coolest Elvis single in 25 years, The King was (once again) introduced to a new audience, and in a very succesful way as this single reached the # 1 spot in 24 territories! An album like "Elvis 30 # 1 Hits" was therefore inevitable, but this is not just another greatest hits CD, it's THE definitive Elvis collection of the entire globe! First of all, what really blows you away is the SOUND, the sound quality of this album is absolutely breathtaking, Elvis is heard here as he's never been heard before, both old and new fans will fully agree to this! Second, and most importantly off course, is the music on the album. From his first # 1 Heartbreak Hotel to A Big Hunk o' Love, from his first post-army smash Stuck On You to Crying In The Chapel and from the moving In The Ghetto to his last hit Way Down, it's crystal clear in every note that Elvis Presley was, is and always will be the undisputed King of Rock 'n' Roll, whose music will be around for a very long time to come! Should anyone ever ask you who Elvis Presley was, this CD is the best possible answer to give... If you open the jewel-box and take out the CD (as you'll do very often!), you'll read the following, which says it all: BEFORE ANYONE DID ANYTHING, ELVIS ALREADY DID EVERYTHING...
Free Music Review: The King lives on Hit: 5 Stars
Living and born in the South I was always a fan of Elvis. I couldn't name that many of his song, I had no CDs, and I watched one or two of my Mom's movies on him. The movies were entertaining, I enjoyed them, and I considered myself a fan of Elvis. When I was wandering around Walmart with a friend, we came upon a stand of CDs. After seeing Elvis 30 #1 Hits, I immediatly snatched it up. My Mom said she had some Elvis CDs I could listen to, but she had never pulled them out. That's why I had never had a CD of his. Thus, my first Elvis CD! I was familiar with some of the first songs, "Heartbreak Hotel", "Hound Dog", and "All Shook Up". Those are just to name a few. But on a trip the day after buying this CD, I sat and listened to it the whole way through. I was surprised on what I had missed out on. The CD's songs were impressive and overall great! I usually start to pick favorites on a CD I get, but I couldn't. I loved them all! This is a amazing CD compiled with some of his greatest songs, or #1 hits. I only wish there could have been more songs on here like "Blue Suede Shoes" or "I Was the One." Well, those are for another CD I suppose. I quickly bought Elvis 2nd To None after this one. I couldn't get enough of his songs! This CD is great for someone's first Elvis CD, but any of them are!
Free Music Review: Elivs #1 Even At Age 22. Hit: 5 Stars
I know i'm probably a fish out of water here, considering Elvis's main fan base is a few generations before me. However, when I was 16 I thought Mr. Presley's music was just old and something which only my parents listened to. Now i'm 22 and things have changed since then. I perchased this CD and my whole view of Elvis has changed. Tracks 1-8 are by far, the most popular songs i've heard from him. Their simply the best toe-tapping songs I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. For me, i assume it's my age but all of these tracks are extremely *classy*. What I mean by that is, compared to today's music, Elvis's music (especially his earlier work) has an uncluttered and sparse musical sound. Just enough to carry a rockable tune as he belts out the lyrics, especially with such songs like "Jailhouse rock." Now, this album has a little gem even my up-to-date music tastes can appreciate! The remix of "A Little Less Conversation" is the wildest thing i've ever heard. Consisting of a very funky and danceable sound, for me, the King has never ever sounded so good. It made me wonder what kind of music he would be doing today if he was still around. It's definately the bright spot on this track that no one should miss. Overall, The sound quality is great and i'm extremely satisfied about this release.
Free Music Review: The King's Number Ones are sounding fab Hit: 5 Stars
This disc displays the #1 hits of "The King Of Rock and Roll" AND "The King of Pop" sounding fabulous. It is a nice little slice of wonderful memories for seasoned fans, and the perfect vehicle to start with for The King's new generations of fans, which are very evident, by even including the bonus #1 track new remix of "A Little Less Conversation" to boot. The remaining tracks---all classic Elvis chart toppers, and most immortal moments in musical history sound crisper, sharper and more spacious than perhaps ever before. One slight unexplained and rather inexcusable fault here though is that a couple of tracks..."A Fool Such As I" and "The Wonder Of You" are NOT the brilliant original master #1 versions, but inferior alternate versions, and this perturbs me a bit. But overall it's a fine collection of the #1's for long time fans and for new discoverers and fans of The King to pick up, slide in and hear some truly great music....the likes of which is no longer made, and never was made like EP made it. As John Lennon once said..."Before Elvis there was nothing. If it wasn't for Elvis, there would have never been The Beatles". Get this disc and celebrate the King's legacy once again or discover it for the first time and find out in just this one disc why Elvis is and will always be the one and the only King.
Free Music Review: Fantastic introduction of ELVIS to a new fan... Hit: 5 Stars
First of all, let me explain that I am 27, and have long been aware of Elvis' contribution to modern music. Aware is the key word, but I never really gave him a good serious listen. Having seen photogaphs of him in his outrageous 70's Vegas performance outfits never really struck a cord in me to make me want to tune in. Well guess what? Right now I am tired of most musical trends and have been litening to older stuff like Sinatra, the Stones, Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Getz, with a sprinkling of the newer Jesus and Mary Chain, and New Order, just to bring me back to my own youth and not my (grand) parents'. The point here is that my tastes are eclectic. I saw this disc and I thought I give the ole king a try. I love it. I didn't think I would hate it, but I definitely didn't expect to like it this much either. I had it on in the background, and found myself dancing a few minutes later before I even know what happened. The music is cheerful, upbeat and innocent. It also honestly can put a smile on my face. Though I am partial to the earlier recordings, rather than the Vegas years, they really are all excellent selections. It is a great intro for those wishing to explore. I can honestly say that my Elvis collection is only just beginning... now where do I go next?- A new fan
