If you are an Elvis fan, you will like this collection of Gospel songs. There is a great variety in style and lyrics on the CD. We played it around the holidays because my husband loves Blues, I like spiritual and our 10 year old boy likes something out of the ordinary. If you know these songs, (and you must) you will enjoy Elvis and his unique, ultimate renditions. For us, this CD is an addition to a growing collection of Elvis...as a steady diet, this may not be the Elvis CD you would buy to hear daily.Free Music Review: Completely Incredible

We all know and love Elvis but Gospel is his calling. No one does gospel like Elvis. The emotion, feeling and that increbile voice gives his gospel recordings a leg up over all other artists. This is one of my fav albums as it has all the good recordings. The Jordanaires as back up totally works for this gospel album. If you've never heard Elvis sing gospel, this is the album for you.Free Music Review: Great, but......

I really like this CD. However, there are quite a few songs on here I've never heard of, and I generally like to hear Elvis sing by himself. There are alot of back-up singers on this CD and they get alot of song time. But, nobody sings "how great thow art" and "peace in the valley" like Elvis. I would have like to have had "in the garden" included on this CD as well.Free Music Review: Great, soul-warming CD

Overall, this CD is a very nice balance between young and old Elvis. (In my opinion, sometimes certain periods of Elvis material can sound very shmaltzy and barring the first track and another, this collection seems to be low on grand, drippy tunes.) GOSPEL THAT MY GRANDMOTHER WOULD LISTEN TO IN THE 1960'S. ELVIS WAS HER FAVORITE AND THE MUSIC HASN'T CHANGED OVER THE YEARS. HE IS STILL THE BEST GOSPEL SINGER EVER.
