Free Music Notes for Peace In The Valley: The Complete Gospel RecordingsFree Music Review: If it wasn't for gospel music, we wouldn't have the king! Hit: 5 Stars
This is, in my opinion, the most beautiful Elvis box set I have ever purchessed in my life. This three CD set features every single gospel recording Elvis ever made and in my opinion his 1960 album His Hand In Mine is the greatest ever. It will bring you to tears when you hear him sing Known Only To Him, He Knows Just What I Need and I Believe In The Man In The Sky. Elvis sounded so good singing these songs and for some reason Crying In The Chappel didn't show up on the album. However it was released as a single in 1965 and it is truly one of the greatest. This is a great set for not only Elvis fans, but true gospel fans also. God bless BMG for this graet set.
Free Music Review: Elvis was made to sing Gospel! Hit: 5 Stars
Very powerful performances and of course Elvis' voice is unmatched. He was made to sing Gospel. The only Grammys he won were for his Gospel recordings. An excellent collection. It includes not only official studio recordings, but also unofficial rehearsal recordings and some of the "Million Dollar Quartet" sessions. Some of these recordings are kind of rough and on others Elvis is obviously just playing around. If you are just wanting a collection of his more polished Gospel offerings, I would recommend the 2 CD "Amazing Grace" collection or the single CD "Ultimate Gospel" album. But if you want every Gospel song Elvis sung, this is the collection for you!
Free Music Review: Elvis doing what he did best Hit: 5 Stars
Singing Gospel Music. It's what Elvis loved the most, and what he did better than any mortal who ever lived on this earth. This incredible 3 CD set has every Gospel song ever done by the King - The 1 EP, three LPs, live performances, rehearsals, jam sessions. No one could do Gospel Music better than Mr. Presley & of all the various genres (Rock, Country, Ballads, Blues, etc.) Gospel was what he loved the best. I could listen to this music around the clock & it would never get old. Whether atheist or Bible Believer - YOU NEED THIS MUSIC - you'll never be the same. Thank you Elvis!!
Free Music Review: Inspiring Hit: 5 Stars
This is a wonderfully inspiring three disc collection of recordings by a person I feel puts his heart and soul into his gospel songs. How grand to hear the King of Rock pay homage to his Lord, the source of his "one of a kind" vocal talent. The impromptu recordings, including one where Elvis sings bass, I find especially enjoyable and touching. A few of the songs are done more than once but there are some that should be done more than once. This collection may not include all the gospel songs Elvis ever did but it a large uplifting, moving collection and well worth the price.
Free Music Review: Excellent Hit: 5 Stars
An excellent compilation of gospel songs. Elvis at his best. I enjoy getting to hear Elvis having a laugh and just having fun with his friends on one of the discs. I especially loved How Great Thou Art and He Touched Me. These are amazing songs sung by an amazing performer. With nearly 30 spiritual and traditional hymns on each of the three discs, there is something for everyone.
Something I love about Elvis is that he wasn't ashamed of his Savior and didn't care what the rest of the secular world felt about it.
