Free Music Review: 8 Mile
Hit: 5 Stars

Seeing I am a big fan of Eminem I had to get this soundtrack. It has the new single Lose Yourself and other songs by Eminem + lots of others by other artists. It has the song "8 Mile" the movie title and "Rabbit Run" a great lyrical song. Only two of these songs (Lose Yourself and 8 Mile) were actually played in the movie but the rest of them were good to make up a whole album of good rap material. You should also get "More Music From 8 Mile" which has all the songs played in the film, with songs by 2pac, Mobb Deep, Notorious BIG, Outkast, Naughty By Nature and more all pretty good. On the soundtrack Lose Yourself would have to be my favourite song. Lose Yourself is actually one of my favourite of all Eminem songs with great lyrical verses etc. However i'm also a fan of 50 Cent and D12 so their songs I am a fan of aswell. Good Eminem

Me and Eminem, or, Marshal Matthews are both 38. That's the only comparison I'm going to make. We've led drastically different lives. And there lies the difference. I've got plenty to be pissed off about. Most of us do. Eminem's gift, his real gift, is he can talk about life and make anybody understand.

I love how he talks about his insecurities in this song. I love how he says if you think being brilliant is easy then, well, you must be stupid. And finally, more than anything this song is an Anthem. I'm going to overcome, I'm going to beat this, I shall prevail, no matter what. Whenever I have something to accomplish or have more packed into a day than I think I can handle, I put this song on repeat, put on my Bose headphones, and go out and accomplish whatever the f*%# I have to accomplish.

I heard so much about the movie and soundtrack but never had a chance to watch the movie. I decided to get the soundtrack because of the Lose Yourself song and the Wanksta song. The cd turned out great. Its a great listen all the way through cd. its got a mix of heavy rap and more mellow rap. My favorite songs on the cd are Rabbit Run by Eminem, 8 Mile by Eminem, Places to Go by 50 Cent, Wanksta by 50 Cent, Lose Yourself by Eminem. There are still many other great songs but these seem to have the most meaning to me, Rabbit Run especially. When Eminem says " Sometimes I just want to quit.. my life is just one big ball of .... Thats the reality of life. Eminem just says it like no other rapper. So if you want a good CD go out and buy this one. You wont be disappointed!

If you liked the movie, you must get the soundtrack as well! It goes perfectly with the film. I think more songs could have been included in the actual film such as "Wasting My Time" by Taryn Manning and Macy Gray's "Time of My Life". The hit "Lose Yourself" is like the 2K version of "Eye of The Tiger" (from the Rocky films). It's also rare to get rivals Nas and Jay-Z on the same album (another reason to pick up this cd)! The final track "Rabbit Run" is pretty much a Eminem freestyle session. The highlight track is "Love Me" with Em, 50 Cent, and Obie Trice. 50's sly remarks about R. Kelly, Lil' Kim and others very clever. This is a great album from beginning to end.

How Eminem was able to pull out a well organized album after a box office hit is incredible. First is first, the songs on this CD has a little bit of everything. Not a hip-hop fan? You're ok, this cd contains a couple songs by non-rappers. Into hip-hop? Has many artists from Eminem's label as well as other great rappers such as Jay-Z, Nas and Rakim. I would have to say that this was above my expectations and is a must if you're a hip-hop/eminem fan. He rips it up in Love me, 8 Mile road, 8 miles and runnin', and rabbit run. As well as other songs. But these i have to say were my favorite. Get the CD, i promise it won't be a dissapointment.
