Free Music Notes for Encore (Deluxe Edition)

Free Music Review: Different but great
Hit: 5 Stars

It took me a few listens to get into this album because it's very different from his others. When I first heard it I wasn't sure what to think, so I just decided that I would have to listen to it more and let it sink it before deciding if I liked it. Well now I think it's great. I like his other albums more but I can't really say this album is worse. It's much different because Eminem is different. He seems more mature now, even though a lot of the songs on this album are crazy. My favorite songs on it are Never Enough (Nate Dogg sounds awesome in this one), Yellowbrick Road, Like Toy Soldiers, Just Lose It, Mockingbird, Encore, We As Americans, and Love You More. It's kinda strage there are only three songs on the bonus cd, not even a video. But the songs on the bonus cd are pretty good. I think The Slim Shady LP showed Eminem's crazy/funny side, The Marshall Mathers LP showed his angry side, The Eminem Show showed his serious/insecure side, and Encore is sort of a reflection on them all. Some people don't like it but at least it's original and completely different from his others. If it were like his earlier albums people would like it, but only for a while, and then it would die out. I think Encore was a brave attempt on Eminem's part and I think it's really good. Some of the songs are really weird but they just might take getting used to. One of the things I didn't like is the chorus in Big Weenie. It seems like he made that up right then and it's just too long and weird, but the verses in that song are really good. My favorite track is We As Americans. Eminem's flow is unbelievable and the lyrics and beat are amazing. I was surprised to see that Eminem produced this track and many of the others on the album. On the first CD, Eminem and Dre each produced 8 tracks, and Eminem produced all three on the bonus CD. The production in We As Americans is brilliant. I am not sure if a sample was used in it but Eminem is a genius for the production on it, and many of the other tracks. I hope this isn't the end of his rap career. I'm always anxious to hear new Eminem material.

Free Music Review: Eminem Has the last Laugh.....
Hit: 5 Stars

There are so many band-wagon Eminem Fans out there its not even funny. No one had ever even heard of eminem's first album Infinite until MTV did a Bio on eminem. All these band-wagon eminem fans that say he changed his style, and that ENCORE is boring, lame or not good obviously don't get it. Eminem doesn't write his songs for you, you ungrateful fans knocking on eminem. He writes his songs about things that he is going through, even though you haters say his music is not "real." What is "real" to you band-wagon self-procaliamed eminem fans? It's good that you don't like his album, that just proves how much you really know about EM. He doesn't need you as fans. This album is going multi-platinum as you sit there writing a crappy review just because you can say anything. All the other rappers in the game don't write about "realness" talking about cars and rims, the same crap every song. But someone like Eminem comes along and talks about touchy subjects, true is mostly in a funny way, but he can rhyme just about anything, even if it doesn't make any sense to you. Eminem is not going to write another "Hi my name is" or "Stan" cause that's all the songs you fake eminem songs know. Em is writing music for himself, he is probably laughing at all the critics cause he frankly doesn't care what all you fake fans have to say. None of you fake fans even have the first D12 album, if you listen to that album, you would see that his style hasn't really changed at all. But its ok, cause all you guys like 50 cent now. Y'all didn't even know who 50 was until he got on the 8 mile soundtrack. If ya'll hear his first raps, you'll probably wouldn't even know its him. Get a bootleg copy of 50's first album. You fake fans, don't sit there and wait till an artist gets popular and then diss them for getting popular. I wanna see all you fake eminem fans go out and make a record better than eminem. It's so easy to criticize, ya'll make it sound like you make better rap songs than EM. If ya'll made an album, all the eminem haters combined wouldn't even sell 2 copies

Free Music Review: Review this Album in the right context please
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok to start off this is eminem's best album yet. Sure it may not be what most people expected but that does not make it "sub-par". Sorry to disappoint you but despite the potty humour this album shows maturity out of Em. His lyrics are top-notch proving even further that he is the best rapper (EVER). The production on the album is amazing. Dre once again proves he is the "super-duper beat maker" and is still on top of his game. Eminem does disappoint a little on the production side but there are gems like "Like Toy Soldiers", "Yellow Brick Road" and :mockingbird" that do show his prowess in production, he still needs more time to grow in that area though. As i said before lyrically this album is second to none. The content is amazing and he continues to show that he is untouchable lyrically. He also brings out the best in those around him because of how good he is. On songs like "Never Enough" and "Curtains Down/Encore" he spits fire which in turn brings out 50 Cent's best lyrical offering to date and is hopefully a sign of things to come. He also brings out the best in Dre.s lyrics as he also spits some of the hottest stuff you will EVER hear from Doc Dre.
To be honest I was not impressed with "just Lose It" not because of his childish playful mocking of Michael Jackson but because the formula that had workes so well in the past is now becoming passe and it needs to change. And i wont get into the Michael Jackson thing he should feel happy he didnt get the more harsh of Em's lyrical degrading that he has thrown at others (CIte his beefs with Everlast, Limp Bizkit, Benzino and Ja Rule). To me his "venom" spewed at Michael was hardly that. Moving on.
Overall with above average production, the best lyrical performance of his career, signs of continuing maturity, and never slowing down, and his unchanging ability to bring out the best in those around him "Encore" is Eminem's best album to date, it just takes more that one listen to appreciate. Thats all. Definitely a 5 Star album.

Free Music Review: What?
Hit: 5 Stars

What the hell is all the hating on Eminem for? This is tight! The second semi-mature release from the best lyricist in the game.
Eminem's development has certainly been something to behold. It's equivalent in the rock world would be the change in the music of Silvchair over their career.
He started his career with an opinion, and only one way in which to express it. This is largely due to him being white, and having to bring something new and different to the table to be accepted throughout the rap world. And he certainly brought something new. His first and second albums were very much alike, but only in their delivery. He had his opinions and expressed them in an extremely entertaining, joking way.
But now that he has sold so many albums, he has started to change his style so that he can get a serious message across to his listeners. The Eminem Show showcased some of his first serious work, such as 'Sing For The Moment', 'Soldier' and 'Cleaning Out My Closet'.
On Encore, he takes it to the next level, including a large amount of serious, gritty music that is touched by his amazing lyricism and gifted beats. This is a man who works hard to get his message across. 'Mosh' is a great piece, taking shots at American Government and earging people to vote against George Bush in the next election. 'Like Toy Solidiers' shows Shady's new side, which we haven't seen before this album; the sensitive man. He illustrates how he doesn't want his rap beefs to go to the streets if his boys, who he cares about, are going to die. Very successful single. There is, of course, some crap. 'Ass Like That' is a truly horrible song, and a very poor 3rd single. 'Puke' is also a poor song, which is saved by Eminems catchy rhyming style.
Overall a great release, I'm not sure why it is everyone is hating on him, he truly is one of the best in the game, and definitely a pioneer for white rappers. If this is his swansong, then I take my hat off to him for what he has done for the game.
