Eminem The Relapse
1. Dr West Skit- This is a perfect skit to lead into 3 A.M. Shows how crazy Eminem really is and is good for the CD I will be rating skits as well since this lead into a song its worth being on here. Skit Rating 8/10.
2. 3 A.M.- This song is absolute fire. No question about it. One complaint you might hear from people is the accent he uses in the song but even I was able to adjust to it after listing a couple of times. The reason I enjoy this song so much is because it is a dark song and lyrically it is off the charts. He brings us back to the days of his first CD. The content is gruesome but that is the great thing about em because you won't hear material like this except from him. Great song absolute fire one of my favorites on the CD. Song Rating 10/10.
3. My Mom- This song was a good song but the chorus really lacked. I thought it was not well put together and was weak. The first verse I was not to fond of either but the song picked up as it went. Song Rating 6/10.
4. Insane- Wow is all I have to say about this song. The reason I say this is because this is the type of song were Eminem shows you he is not afraid to say what he needs to say to get his point across. He talks about some hard times in his life were his step father was abusive (Physically and sexually) and hold it together with some great lyrics. I really enjoyed this song the fast pace and the verses to it because it has meaning behind it. Song Rating 10/10.
5. Bagpipes from Baghdad- I really liked the beat in this song and the chorus as well. This was a catchy song as Eminem goes on to talk about his relationship with Mariah Carey back in the day. Solid 3 verses like always and with a sick beat you can't go wrong. Song Rating 9/10.
6. Hello- I was not feeling this song as much. I felt it was weak on lyrics and the beat was weak one of the few Eminem songs that really disappoints me. Song Rating 5/10.
7. Tonya Skit- I thought this was an okay skit but once again it lead into the song so good for that. Skit Rating 7/10.
8. Same Song & Dance- I was feeling this song 100%. It had a true meaning behind the first women Eminem was with. He does not use the accent as much and the song flows well. The beat fits this song and this is a nice song after a few ok ones. Song Rating 9.5/10.
9. We Made You- This was the second single released by Eminem to the public. This song is the funny one he has one of every CD. While I don't think it lived up to without me I is better than just lose it and the real slim shady. Lots of funny parts to the song although the accent gets a little more annoying in this song. A solid song and if you get a chance to see the video its even funnier. Song Rating 7.5/10.
10. Medicine Ball- This song is straight fire expect for the chorus I feel. The verses were straight fire and would have been a perfect 10/10 if the chorus was better. You can feel the energy in Eminem's voice he brings it hard here like he says it's time for you to hate me again all the haters like bill o riley it shows Eminem is back with a purpose. Song Rating 9/10.
11. Paul Skit- This skit was too short to rate. I got the point of it and everything taking a shot at paul rosenburg because he felt the album was to graphic and Eminem still released the material. I hope this CD sells well to rub it in pauls face. Skit Rating N/A.
12. Stay Wide Awake- A good flow to this song and the chorus flowed well with the song. I love it when Eminem raps fast pace it is a lot better for him in my opinion. Great lyrics from the start of the song till the end. Song Rating 10/10.
13. Old Time's Sake Feat Dr. Dre- This was the fourth official single released by Eminem. This is one of my favorite song on the album because of the collaboration with dre. Both people feed off each other well here and the song at the end of the day is good. I think the thing that sticks out about this song the most is the chorus it is one of the best I have heard in a while. Solid song and one of my favorites on this CD. Song Rating 9/10.
14. Must Be the Ganja- In this song eminems accent stood out way more and not for the better. To be honest this was more of an annoying song and the chorus was not there. Not feeling this song by Eminem don't know why but two smoking weed songs also back to back don't help. Song Rating 4.5/10.
15. Mr Mathers Skit- I thought this skit although short added something to the cd. It is about when Eminem overdoses and has to be revived an important time in his life and leads well into the next song. Skit Rating 7/10.
16. Déjà vu- Eminem bring it back with this song. The skit leads right into it and the chorus flows so well with this song. The lyrical content and the message behind the song stick out to me. There were a lot of hard times Eminem had when he was away from the game with drugs and I am glad to hear he overcame them a great song and a great message. Song Rating 10/10.
17. Beautiful- Wow I had heard this was the newest single released and I never got around to listing to it. It is as good as advertised the best single release since lose yourself. A lot of meaning behind it and doesn't use the accent in the verses. Very good song by Eminem. Song Rating 10/10.
18. Crack A Bottle feat Dr. Dre and 50 Cent- This was technically the first single released by Eminem for this album although it was so long ago. I really enjoyed this song when I first heard it. I think it is an underrated song and I think all three verses are put well together even 50's which I know takes a lot of heat and people don't like it. A solid song and one of the biggest sellers ever scanning 418,000 copies in one week. Song Rating 8/10.
19. Steve Berman Skit- I like this skit. One thought steve berman is selfish. Eminem proved him wrong looks like first week sales are going to be huge and Steve berman can take that. Skit Rating 7/10.
20. Underground - A very solid way to close off the cd. I did not like the beat but the lyrics were off the page something tells me he wrote this song when he was still using drugs because it sounded like a freestyle to me and the content was hardcore. Song Rating 9/10.
Overall I would say paying the 10 dollars I did for eminems CD was worth it. Finnaly hes back in the rap game and its something that has been needed for a long time. This album has a meaning behind it unlike other rap albums a tribute to proof his best friend who was shot and killed 2 years ago is nice. Eminem didn't make this CD to be commercial lots of good lyrical content not autotune and bubblegum pop rap. The rap game needs more of this and thumbs up to Eminem here as I go with 5 stars for the CD. My favorite songs best to worst are ranked below.
