Free Music Notes for The Eminem ShowFree Music Review: Awesome!!! Hit: 5 Stars
i am not a rap fan. i listen to mainly rock music. eminem is the only rapper i will make an exception for. honestly, i was brought up not to like him, but i always have anyway. i didnt really get into him until last summer, though. i got this cd for my birthday from my brother, and i love him for it. we're both eminem fans. my rents almost took it away from me after all the cussing, but i talked them out of it. i'm gonna cut the ...now, and just give you a rating of each song in my opinion:1.curtains up-this is just an intro, no need to rate it. 2.white america-sweet song. 5/5 3.business-pretty cool. 4/5 4.cleanin out my closet-2nd single. awesome song and video.5/5 5.square dance-possibly my fav song on cd. i just love it. 5/5 6.the kiss-another skit. he goes a little overobard on the cussing, but whatever. thats eminem. 7.soldier-first time i heard it, i hated it. it grew on me a lot, tho 4.5/5 8.say goodbye hollywood-cool. 5/5 9.drips-ok, i do not like this one. i always skip it. 1/5 10.without me-first single. whats not to like? 5/5 11.paul rosenberg-skit. 12.sing for the moment-another awesome song. 5/5 13.superman-this is em's newest single that just came out as of the time of this review. 5/5 14.hailies song-great song to his daughter. sings in this one. 5/5 15.steve berman-skit. 16.when the music stops-okay, but not nearly as good as the rest. 3.5/5 17.say what you say-cool. 4.5/5 18.'till i collapse-awesome. 5/5 19.my dads gone crazy-hailie was a little annoying at first. def. grew on me. funny song. 5/5 20.curtains close-skit. overall, an awesome cd that definetly is worth your money!! 5 star material, no questions asked. eminem is controversy, and i know some people hate him for it, but i love him. hes real, hes no fake, regardless of what some of you say. he is a cool guy whose songs have meaning and has some great lyrics, which can especially be shown in sing for the moment. this cd is much better than its predecessor, marshall mathers lp, which is average. i dont yet have his first cd, so i cant compare to that one. anyway, i highly recommend this cd, even if you're not really into rap.

The Kiss (Skit)-Intro to the next track 7. Soldier-Very fast paced...another angry song 4.5/5 8. Say Goodbye Hollywood-The hook is way too long but its still a good song 3/5 9. Drips (Featuring Obie Trice)-Obie Trie spits a nasty verse & Em has a really nice hook. 3.5/5 10. Without Me-1st Single, closely resembles "My Name Is" & "The Real Slim Shady" but still is a good song and cool video. 4/5 11.Paul Rosenburg (Skit)-Ems manager telling him not to bring a gun to work anymore. 12. Sing For The Moment-Wow I cant enough of this song, I love it.Em is awesome on this and I love how they Sample Aerosmiths "Dream On".Probaly my favorite. 5/5 13. Say What You Say (Featuring Dr. Dre)-Jermaine Dupri diss good track Dre shines on this one. Good production. 4/5 18. Till I Collapse (Featuring Nate Dogg)-Poor production but Eminem & Nate save it. Closely resembles "Lose Yourself" off the 8 Mile Soundtrack.I like the remix better. 4.5/5 19. My Dad's Gone Crazy (Featuring Hailie)-Very funny but not needed. 3/5 20. Curtain's Close -Outro with Ken Kaniff in it really funny. Check out Eminem's The Sauce (Benzino Diss),Nail In The Coffin (Another Benzino Diss),& Stimulate (A cut song from The Eminem Show)
Free Music Review: Excellent... Could Use More Artists Though Hit: 5 Stars
I think Slim needs to feature more artists in his songs. 50 Cent, Xzibit, and more Dr. Dre would have been nice additions to the raps. Here are reviews for each of the songs:White America - 9/10 - Nice raps, nice beats. Chorus is good too. Business - 10/10 - This song is far better than "Without Me," and I don't see why it isn't a single. Cleanin' Out My Closet - 8/10 - Very good rhymes, some were so ingenious that I was startled by them. Square Dance - 9/10 - A comic song with a nice beat. Em's hillbilly voice is hilarious. Soldier - 8/10 - Very fast rap. It'll take a few listens to get the words down. The chorus is mediocre, so you can listen to that easily. Say Goodbye To Hollywood - 6/10 - Em messed up on this song, and the chorus is far too long. Worth listening to a few times, but not the best. Drips - 10/10 - Very well done chorus. Obie Trice could have done some better raps...Nevertheless, his raps are nice and somewhat funny :) Slim has a nice, fast rap. Without Me - 9/10 - You liked "The Real Slim Shady?" You'll love this one! The first single from the album that everyone heard months before the album even came out is one of the best on the CD. Sing For The Moment - 8/10 - It's Slim rapping over Aerosmith's music. Nice rhymes and beat here. Superman - 9/10 - Drips II. Hailie's Song - 8/10 - Very catchy, nice to listen to. When The Music Stops - 9/10 - No chorus, but D12 doesn't need one to be some of the best rappers around. Swifty McVay of D12 has the best part, Eminem just does a little catchy rap at the start. Say What You Say - 12/10 - Definetly the best on the CD! A little reverse of what usually goes on when Dre and Marshall rap together. Dre goes slow and Marshall goes fast, and you'll find yourself rapping this song to yourself in public. Till I Collapse - 9/10 - Simple beat, and Nate Dogg at his best. Em does some nice rapping, too. My Dad's Gone Crazy - 10/10 - Comical and serious raps put together with Marshall's daughter Hailie Jade. A perfect combination! Fun to listen to. Has a nice, catchy beat too. All in all, this is an excellent CD. I also recommend Man vs. Machine (Xzibit) and Get Rich or Die Tryin' (50 Cent) to go along with this CD.
Free Music Review: Close second to Marshall Mathers LP Hit: 5 Stars
Many wondered how Eminem could follow up such a magnificent marshall mathers lp. Any doubts are quickly removed with "White America", yet another powerful opening track from Eminem. The intensity stays around throughout the whole album and is at its finest in Cleanin out My Closet, a rap to his mother as angry as ever. Characteristically, Eminem Show closes with a bang with My Dad's Gone Crazy, an intense lashing coupled with a catchy sample by none other than Hailie Jade herself. (I'm pretty sure she's never heard this song)
1. Curtains Up
2. White America: Powerful lashing criticizing America and displaying Shady's effect on kids (5/5)
3. Business: Clever, Dr. Dre produced song which sound like a Batman theme mixed with the usual Em lyrical genius (4.5/5)
4. Cleanin Out My Closet: The album's most powerful moment, where Eminem is just tearing his mother apart in a rap (5/5)
5. Square Dance: Chorus is a little weird but a great beat and good lyrics make this a strong track. (4.5/5)
6. The Kiss: Skit where Em catches Kim kissing another man
7. Soldier: A lot of references to guns, a good track (4/5)
8. Say Goodbye Hollywood: Good lyrics with OK beat (4/5)
9. Drips: Surprisingly catchy song about STDs (3.5/5)
10. Without Me: Catchy first single of album, everyone knows it but it feels so empty without it (5/5)
11. Paul Rosenberg: Skit about guns
12. Sing for the Moment: Powerful song which mixes a good message with a killer "Dream On" sample (5/5)
13. Superman: Catchy sex song (4/5)
14. Hailie's Song: Slower and softer than most rap fans would like, but the song is sweet and revealing, nonetheless powerful and has a good rapping verse as well. (5/5)
15. Steve Berman: Skit where Em kills Steve Berman when he's dissing him
16. When the Music Stops: clever track with good beat (4.5/5)
17. Say What You Say: OK Track (3.5/5)
18. Til I Collapse: The most intense, lyrically rich, powerful non-single of 2002. (5/5)
19. My Dad's Gone Crazy: Hilarious and revealing song with Hailie walking in on Em when he's snortin some coke, and drops in a catchy chorus
20. Curtains Close
Free Music Review: Eminem Strikes Back Hit: 5 Stars
Naysayers rejoice...you have something to complain about again. Bible holders and right-wing extremists, please, buy the CD and stomp all over it. Sorta like the "Beatle" ban of the 1960's after John Lennon commented on Jesus. Maybe you can run to every naked statue and help government officials to cover up the ... art portion. For the rest of you, or those that actually have a mind, listen up. Pay attention to the music and the lyrics. Relax, laugh, have fun and please, pay attention to what is real and what isn't. You can decide what is and what isn't...if you can't, then you're not old enough to have this album. Let's see... 1. Curtain's Up - Wow...what a powerful intro! So similar to: Public Service Announcement...didn't someone refer to this album being the same old formula? 2. White America - Heavy lyrics and not for the Bible devout. Well, he's spitting a lot of truth in a ram it down your throat style here. 3. Business - Assuming this is the second single, it's a smack at himself, a play-off on fantasy, and spit at the wannabe copycats. 4. Cleanin Out My Closet - Slowed down chorus sealing together a certifiable slam at his mother and himself. Humor...get one people...haha. 5. Square Dance - Don't tell the government about this one. You might rethink signing up for military service, because he's right. -Gonna drop down to #10 - Without Me - along the same lines as The Real Slim Shady...better. Enough breaking the album down track by track - well, Curtains Close is a freaky little exit. All in all, Eminem has departed from Slim Shady & Marshall Mathers LP's. Formula...I think this is a more mature look...not formula. Of course, he's going to have similarities to Eminem and Eminem's style...because he is Eminem...[M]arshall [M]athers...get it? Good. Seems to me that Elton John, Coolio, Green Day all share that same trait...wonder why...hmmm. Overall, this is a heavy album twisting in new directions...not formula. Take a listen. Parents: Come on...you see the explicit lyrics in plain sight? Stop complaining...you are a parent right? I'm not into politics, so...use common sense. Robert Eldridge (...)
