Free Music Review: The warning on the c.d is self explanatory
Hit: 5 Stars

Eminem just keeps on getting better. Anybody who buys this c.d and claims to be at all surprised by the negative comments and the insescent cursing needs to pay attention. Everbody knows what Eminem is famous for, he writes his outrageous comments for shock value. You knew what he was about when you bought the c.d, and knew what he was about when you allowed your children to buy his c.d. Have common sense here people, Eminem himself says that he wouldn't let his own daughter listen to his music, obviously there is a maturity and intellegence level that is needed in order to appreciate the c.d for what it is ENTERTAINMENT. This c.d has catchy beats, the talents of both Timbaland and Nate Dogg, not to mention the many others who help to make this c.d a hit. This is the kind of c.d you listen to because of the deadly tracks, the funny or even the outlandish crude things that Eminem has to say, all the while remembering that it is all a marketing strategy, think about the fact that he's writing it in his lyrics and not physically doing the things that he writes about. This is not a c.d for the narrowminded. If your looking for something that is going to pump you up, while at the same time sending you through a whirlspin of different emotions all within the same verse or bridge, this is for you. For all of you who have nothing better to do then buy a c.d and then knock it to anybody who will listen don't bother. WE don't expect you to grasp the concept that this is fictional material and that he is not even half serious about the things that he says. We don't expect you to understand the rythems and the beat and the deadly bass that will pump through your veins when you got this c.d jacked as loud as it can go. Listen to the way he expreses his anger and the whole range of his emotions while maintaing a consistent speed and rythem. Give the c.d a chance and read between the lines, at what he's really saying, how he's laughing at everybody who just assumes that he means everything that he says, hear the good things that he has to say, and understand that there is truth to what he writes, understand that what he is saying is really happening out there he's just the only one who is strong enough to take the heat and speak up. Pay attention when you listen to this c.d and I guarentee that you will be presently surprised. Give the songs a chance instead of just listening to the first few bars thinking that they all sound the same, it's not the repetition that matters it's the skill that goes into writing his lyrics, and the attention to detail that makes this c.d one of the best. Buy this c.d, if your smart enough to know the difference between the real world, the ramblings of an ENTERTAINER out to shock you and the insecure, have nothing better to do people who knock this c.d without even giving it a chance.

Free Music Review: I've never heard an album like this!!!...
Hit: 5 Stars

The Eminem Show is way different from Eminem's other albums. The lyrics are better and so are the beats. The Eminem Show is pretty similar to Marshall Mathers LP. When I brought this album in the store, I never stopped listening to it. This is the track list of the entire album and a brief description of the songs.
1.Curtains Up[skit])A short six second skit.
2.White America) In this song you think Eminem is still the same person who disses everyone. He starts talking crap about America. The song has a good beat and is a great start for the album. At the end of the song, he says," I'm just playin America. You Know I Luv You."
3.Bussiness) This song is kind of like "The Real Slim Shady" from the Marshall Mathers LP.
4.Cleaning Out My Closet) The second single of the album. Has a real good beat. Shady talks about his mother and his father and how much he hates them for hating him.
5.Square Dance) The beat is OK, but not that good. The lyrics aren't so good, either.
6.The Kiss[skit]) This skit is basically an intro to the next song.
7.Soldier) This song talks about Eminem being the strongest and most powerful soldier. This song is not a radio friendly song, since Shady disses and threatens everyone that gets in his way.
8.Say Goodbye Hollywood) Talks about why he had to leave Holywood. He's confused because he didn't do anything wrong.
9.Drips) This song with Obie Trice is just full of cursing and sex talk.
10.Without Me) The first single to the album. Basically, it's a comedy type rap song.
11.Paul Rosenberg[skit])A skit in which a guy named Paul calls Shady telling him to not use his gun.
12.Sing For The Moment) The fourth single for this album. He talks about how hard his life was as a child and how he is so grateful to be so popular and rich now.
13.Superman) The third single for the album. Talks about having sex with a girl and calling her offensive names. The lyrics are good and so is the beat.
14.Hailie's Song) This song was dedicated to Eminem's daughter, Hailie. He talks about how he loves her and how she changed his life.
15.Steve Berman[skit])A short skit in which a guy kills himself.
16.When The Music Stops) This song sounds like a freestyle because it doesn't have a chorus. Eminem and D-12 rap loud and clear.
17.Say What You Say) This song is produced by Dr.Dre.Eminem raps aggressive and angry like he usually does. Dr.Dre also raps a piece of the song.
18.Till I Collapse) This song has a great car-banging beat. He talks about how he won't quit rapping until the day he dies.
19.My Dad's Gone Crazy) Similar to "Without Me" but it is much madder and agressive.
20.Curtains Close[skit]) A funny skit to end the album.

This is Eminem's best album so far. Hopefully, he'll keep making albums like this.

Free Music Review: Third times the charm...
Hit: 5 Stars

This is Eminem's third and best album so far. The Slim Shady LP was a solid debut, but lack continuity as it was a mixture of material recorded before and after he signed with Dre. On the Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem resorted to shock lyrics, despite making a great album it lacked any personability. On The Eminem Show, Mathers uses his provocative lyrics along side an in depth look into his life. This creates an album that fans and critics have been waiting for.
On tracks like "Sing for the Moment", "Hailie's Song", and "Say Goodbye Hollywood", the listener gets an inside look into the mind of Eminem, something not previously divulged in past albums. On "Sing for the Moment" Eminem gives a great inside look into the actions of rap artists. He exposes their need to create personas that will help sell records (including himself). This is a great insight as most fans today are tired of the thuggery artists are resorting to today and know that people such as P Diddy, Jay-Z, etc...aren't hardcore, but must create this perception to the audience so they can sell their music.
On songs like "White America", "Business", "Without Me", and ""Till I Collapse" Eminem showcases his knowledge of what's going on in the world and in the music world. One of the most important issues brought up is how does being white affect him in the rap industry. Sure it helps his sales, but will he ever be considered one of the best rappers, rather than the best white rapper? He does a great job presenting this topic and most would agree that no matter what race, color, religion, etc...a good musician is a good musician, and Eminem just wants equal respect.
The album isn't without its slipups though. "Drips" featuring Obie Trice is a bad song. It has a good beat, but the concept and lyrics seem lazy and rushed. Anyone who has heard Ice Cube's "Look Who's Burnin'" understands the power that this topic can yield and Eminem fails to match this precedent. "Superman" seems like a song Eminem threw together quickly and is filled with a myriad of bitter lyrics as he tried to fill one song with a list full of petty insults.
All in all this album is a triumph as Eminem lets the listener closer inside his mind than ever before. Touching songs to his daughter create a view of him that most did not have before. This album also cut out some of the shock lyrics and replaced them with intelligent concepts that Eminem banters back and forth. My overall grade for the album is 4.5 stars, as it is his best album to date. However for the most part Eminem fans and Eminem detractors have already picked their sides and most know whether they will buy this album or not. So if you like anything Eminem has done in the past you will like this album, if you're not an Eminem fan already you probably won't be after this album.

Free Music Review: It would feel empty without Eminem
Hit: 5 Stars

While both Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers are an important part of this CD, Eminem subsumes his two other personas to take center stage on The Eminem Show. While the album is not as consistently impressive as either of his first two albums, it contains some standout tracks and displays a unity of purpose and theme that marks Eminem as a more mature and talented artist more than comfortable in his own often-criticized skin. There is plenty of violence and cursing throughout the course of this exceedingly long release (coming in at over an hour and seventeen minutes), yet a softer and certainly more introspective Eminem sometimes reveals himself in the lyrics. While there is plenty of talk about his own life, it is now somewhat counterbalanced by criticism of the music industry, censorship, and even American policy (including, as everyone probably knows, some harsh words for Lynn Cheney and Tipper Gore). This doesn't make Eminem a global spokesman for anything, but it certainly seems he is trying to place his music in a larger context. Naturally, though, his most intense lyrics revolve around his own life, the penultimate example of which is Cleaning Out My Closet. In this self-revelatory track, Eminem launches a vicious attack on his mother, seemingly holding nothing back at all in his diatribe. He raises the specter of his ex-wife Kim in The Kiss skit, but there is no equivalent track to Bonnie and Clyde 97 or Kim on this album.

Eminem doesn't take himself too seriously, leading to tracks such My Dad's Gone Crazy, the brilliant and funny duo with his daughter Hailie Jade. Hailie's influence is felt most strongly, of course, on Hailey's Song. This is by far my favorite song on this album, and it is certainly unique in that Eminem actually sings the lyrics, reflecting the obvious joy he feels at getting his daughter back. There are certainly enough tracks reflecting the rage and youthful exasperation that have always driven Eminem, but there is also a measure of fun rarely felt in his earlier efforts. Without Me is loads of fun, forever conjuring up images in my mind of Eminem in that superhero getup from the video. In White America, Eminem seems to take delight in pondering the effects he has on young people; and I find a lot of entertainment values in Square Dance. The only song I don't really care for is Drips featuring Obie Trice, a song that seems to take shock value for its own sake a little too far for my tastes. Overall, though, The Eminem Show is yet another amazing album from the unstoppable force known as Eminem, and the maturity, commitment, and ever-increasing skills revealed in its conception and execution offer undeniable proof that hip hop's most controversial and influential star is going to be a force in the business for a very long time.
