Free Music Notes for Enigma 3: Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!

Free Music Review: Haunting
Hit: 5 Stars

When I first bought this CD, I was really disappointed. The only song I liked was "TNT for the Brain". I was expecting something more like MXMC AD, which is probably still Engima's best album.

After about a year, I popped it into my CD player and was amazed. I have been listening to it almost every day since then. This is a really beautiful album. I am not sure if I like this one better or "The Screen Behind the Mirror", but Enigma's first, MXMC A.D., is probably still the best.

I now find Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! very soothing. My favorite song is Prism of Life, but I love every track on the album, with the possible exception of Why. (I hate when he sings!) TNT for the Brain is awesome.

This is Enigma's most mellow, soothing album. MXMCAD and Screen Behind the Mirror both have drums, are faster, and are more sexual, while this is slower and more spiritual..music you can meditate to..

I *HIGHLY* recommend this album. It is probably the 2nd or 3rd best album I have ever heard (1st being MXMCAD)

Free Music Review: This album sends chills down my spine!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Enigma is already an increadible band and this album just proves even further the diversity and uniqueness that only Enigma can deliver with such an intensity like no other. Their simply are no comparisons to this! Enigma's first album "MCMXC a.D." contained much Gregorian Chanting with a distinct medievel sound and erroticism, while their second album "The Cross of Changes" featured more tribal/eastern chants and influences. "Le Roi est mort, Vive le Roi" combines the elements of the first two yet at the same time sounds very different from both of them. It is deeply ambient and atmospheric yet is simply too intense and emotional for me to call it mood music. Not to mention Enigma's music is very, very sensual! I highly reccomend this cd along with the other two Enigma albums (the first one is my personnal favorite) and am eagerly awaiting Enigma's fourth album due out in the next few months.

Hit: 5 Stars

Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi is latin for "The King is Dead, Long Live the King!"

Shortly after the album was released, Virgin Records announced that the first 3 million copies of the album in the US would have the unique transparent plastic cover sleeve. New editions with regular paper sleeves are already being released, so act quickly and buy the original while it's still available!

About the album; Le Roi...continues the different turns that Enigma takes with each new album. This third album takes samples of music from the Gregorian Chants as usual, but in the song "The Child in Us" adds a female vocalist singing in Sanskrit. The result is a beautiful harmony I've never heard before!

And unlike the previous two albums, the lyrics are more thought provoking. In the song "Why?," Curly M.C. sings with unusual passion. And listen to the lyrics. They're incredibly deep! Whoa!

Free Music Review: I've written reviews for all 4 enigma CD's
Hit: 5 Stars

Because I own all 4 and of them all I have to say that Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! is the BEST(!!) of them all. Third of its kind gives me chills EVERY TIME I listen to it. How morphing through time goes from the "lahh..lahh..lahh..." seductive voices to third of its kind all the way to the drumbeats and scratching used in Beyond the Invisible, this CD is so seductive and so mystical. Second only in its mythical proportions to Sadness Pt. 1, I'd say if you don't own this CD "you are insane. It is love and not a game!" :) Sorry, those were lyrics I couldn't resist, they're in T.N.T. for the brain. Speaking of couldn't resist... "You were my side... I couldn't resist..." Heh, okay I'll stop now. Anyway, bottom line, finé, you have to be slightly deranged and totally unresponsive not to get this CD! You WON'T be disappointed!

Free Music Review: The "best" New Age album ever
Hit: 5 Stars

I was reading through some trashy reviews of some customers who don't know actually what is new age music. If you wish to get pure new age album I recommend this one because this would be the best you will have. This is the masterpiece of Enigma. I owned all 5 Enigma albums and my favourite one is this.

Cretu has used samples like Gregorian Chants, Celtic Chants in perfect way. The significant thing is all samples are based on the songs and not the songs are based on the samples. I saw in some reviews that the tracks like "Third of its kind","Oddessey of the mind" are just fillers. Thats not correct, those tracks are part of the whole story. Thats why we call this Enigma. Even the sleeve of this cd is greatly done. Definitely you will love this one. Dont afraid to buy this cd. Good Luck....!!!
