Free Music Notes for Enigma - Love Sensuality Devotion: The Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Great Greatest Hits Album! Hit: 5 Stars
Love Sensuality Devotion was the first Enigma album that I bought and from the first day that I bought it, I was never sorry. I knew about about Enigma before buying this album since my dad listened to it when I was young. I didn't remember any of the songs but became interested in the band/project when I was 14. Looking at all of the Enigma CDs on the store shelf I decided to go with a Greatest Hits album and I am glad that I did. The music is sort of a blend of new age, hip hop beats (or trip hop), and something else but it is unlike anything else out there. You can listen to it quietly or pump up the volume and hear all of the little things hidden in this layered music.
This album represents the First World of Enigma and features music from the first 4 albums. Hits like Sadeness, Mea Culpa, Beyond the Invisible, Return to Innocence are included.
This is a great album because it gives the listener a taste of Enigma music. Now, I have all of the albums from the band/project but I still pop this one into my stereo.
If you have heard of Enigma or one of Enimga's songs and want to see what music Michael Cretu (the man behind Enigma) has to offer, check out this album. Beware of one thing though. This album represents the first four albums. The albums that came after Love Sensuality Devotion have a different sound to them (although they still have that Enigma feel to them). If you are a fan or just someone who is curious, check this album out!
Free Music Review: Interesting blend of styles Hit: 5 Stars
Enigma's songs have always captivated me in many ways. However, it wasn't until I actually bought Cretu's 3rd disc, "Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!", that I realized the extent of the spirituality and openness of this music. If you have ever gotten a chance to look at the disc, you will see pictures of naked men lined up. You can only see from their head down to their torso. Basically they have all of these pictures of mechanical devices covering their heads and diagrams showing their body mechanisms (like their ribs, digestive system, lungs, etc.) It's almost depicting the human body as a machine, which is true in so many ways. At first I was taken aback at how someone could so graphically portray humans are lifeless machines doing things based on cause and effect and the like (the actual scientific theory is called 'mechanism'). But I think if you look deeper you will find another meaning to what the pictures represent.I think the same thing happens when you learn something in life and then listen to an Enigma song, and you realize how true and how [in]vulnerable and how clear it is all at the same time. Growing up in a christian family, music like this is considered controversial and even more taboo than drugs and alcohol, however I think if you were like me at first(skeptical), give it LOTS of time and when you are ready you will find tranceful, truthful, and dance-beat-filled music that is simply irresistible.
Free Music Review: BEYOND THE INVISIBLE Hit: 5 Stars
Wow! Enigma delivers here! So many other "Greatest Hits" never quite cut it. There always seems to be songs that shouldn't be there and songs missing that should be there. BUT NOT LSD! Every song is a hit! Enigma is one of my favorite bands because of their uniqueness. What I like best about Enigma is the way they combine sensuality with spirituality. We all have both inside us and Enigma balances these intrinsic natures in the most amazing way. And by sharing their hearts' passions and truths, they don't hold anything back--I love it! I think that their name, Enigma, is quite the paradox; everyone that has a heart beating can relate to this Music. Yet it is the perfect name too because it is so intriguing. You can't go wrong with LSD. Whether you have all, some, or none of their Music. [There aren't any lyrics inside, for your information.] This was my first cd by them and made me a fan for life! And most fortunate for me, LSD became the beginning of an eternal friendship. We are linked. It shall not be broken. o8E "If you understand or if you don't; if you believe, or if you doubt. There's a universe of justice and the eyes of truth are always watching you." And yet..."Don't think twice before you listen to your heart." Soar!
Free Music Review: A MUST FOR ALL ENIGMA FANS! Hit: 5 Stars
i have to admit that at first i didn't think that it would be necessary to purchase this enigma greastest hits compilation. i mean especially when you're a fan who already has all their cds, what would be the point of doing so? well i have to say i was wrong! i purchased this cd and was not the least bit disappointed! for one thing, it has various remixed tracks, such as "tnt for the brain" and i must say the track on this cd far exceeds the original one found on enigma's third album "le roi est mort, vive le roi." in my personal opinion, "tnt for the brain" is reason enough to buy this greatest hits compilation, so amazing this song really is!! i also love how all the songs flow nicely into one another, so you feel as though it is one long ride through time; no pauses in between to distract you from your voyage! :) i'd have to say, the one thing that usually "bothered" me about enigma cds was how they never really exceeded an hour... well this cd definitely surpasses that time period, and does so wonderfully... if you are a true fan of enigma, you won't regret making this purchase! enjoy!! + in nomine Christi, Amen +
Free Music Review: Stunning and enchanting Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a huge Enigma fan. I find Enigma's music soothing and comforting to relax too. Although I own all four of their albums, I wanted to buy their greatest hits especially after hearing one of their new songs "Turn Around". I believe that "The Landing" and "Turn Around" are the two new tracks on the cd, or never been released. I particularly dug "Turn Around", such a breath-taking epic. "The Landing" made for a good opening track to lead the listener into this enchanting album. All the well-known tracks on this cd is found such as "Sadeness" and "Return to Innocence". My personal favorite songs were included on this cd such as "Gravity of Love", "Mea Culpa", "Beyond the Invisible", and "Morphing Thru Time". Over 70 minutes long, I was not disappointed in this cd. This cd is great for casual listeners interested in hearing only Enigma's more familiar songs. Definitely one of the best greatest hits compilations ever to be released in my honest opinion.
