Free Music Notes for Enigma - Love Sensuality Devotion: The Greatest HitsFree Music Review: LSD For The Brain ! Hit: 5 Stars
Cretu and company never cease to amaze ! Unstifled by trends, unresricted by gimmicks, Enigma like composer New Age guru Vangelis are in charge of their own musical artistry; There are no compromises. Enigma dares to go where other artists fear to tread. So what if they use samples or loops or too many synthesizers; At least Cretu knows how to use them and not abuse them. Wife Sandra is still in top form with her sensual beckoning voice of passion (or lust ?). This collection has much more to offer other than just atmospheric music. The rich sonic overlapping textures and deep percussion beats on some tracks make for a healthy mental trip that transcends all time and space. The musical or transitional segues that link all songs like one musical suite or landscape can only be described as true Enigma style...
Free Music Review: DELICIOUS ! Hit: 5 Stars
Who can not be entranced by the heavy breathing of a sexy sounding Frenchwoman, the beats of the music resembling the rhthym of exquisite lovemaking, and the chanting of the monks, reminding one that all this lascivious pleasure is sinful? This music would seem to transport one back to a time when carnal desires were a NO NO, and yet, they were ultimately irresistible to humans. When one listens to this music, their primal instincts are always inevitably unleashed.
This music, however, isn't only concerned with lust. It is also explores the meaning of love. Lust leads to love and sensuality, which then leads people to devote themselves to life. This CD will inspire you to lead life to the brim, perhaps even causing the cup to overflow. And what's wrong with that?
Free Music Review: LSD: Luscious Sound Devotee! Hit: 5 Stars
LOVE SENSUALITY DEVOTION: THE GREATEST HITS by Enigma is just that. I have the first 3 Enigma albums, and have always enjoyed them because each album has familiar elements sonically, but Michael Cretu assembled them with new themes each time. This compilation includes music from the 4 albums including SCREEN, plus 2 new tracks. The new tracks are OK, but they don't grab the ear as do the other songs. The mix is well done, putting hard-driving rock with more ambient music. One track flows into the next, so it makes for an excellent total listening experience! Best when you're not doing anything but sitting with your eyes closed taking it all in. I find it relaxing and engaging music... A fantastic hits collection for anyone...whether you like it loud or soft!!
Free Music Review: ONE OF A KIND Hit: 5 Stars
This album is a CD that's alive with its own heartbeat, breathing rhythms, and soul which cannot go unnoticed even by the casual listener. Enigma The Greatest Hits with its "enigmatic" title "L S D, Love, Sensuality, Devotion" includes one track, "Sadeness [Part 1]" which hearkens to the time in the early 90s of "Moodfood" by Moodswings, taking one back to a time all its own. Couldn't get enough of this then, and it has me in its grips once more. The tracks are nice & long and beautifully melt into each other. It's timeless and a guaranteed winner for a new listener as well as the connoisseurs of this genre. You'll give your system's "repeat" function a workout with this one! Ladd, Music Maniac
Free Music Review: This deserves more than five stars!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Enigma is a powerhouse to be reckoned with! They are the only group (or, person for that matter!) that can mix new age, rock, and techno-pop in a way that can please even the harshest listener! I have been a fan for years, and I was so excited when they released this greatest hits compilation. Along with Enya, Enigma has the melodious power to move mountains. Their music is beautiful and inspirational, dark and kinky, depressing and angst-filled, all at the same time. Who could forget the infectious beats of "Sadeness" or "Return To Innocence?" Or the moody melody of "Gravity of Love?" This is a definite must for any music lover. I put my big rainbow stamp of approval on it!!!!!!
