Free Music Notes for Voyageur

Free Music Review: amazing pleasant surprise
Hit: 5 Stars

All I've heard and read about the new Enigma album is that is doest compare to the original. Well, if you put the CD in your player and wait to hear some haunting chants and Gregorian choruses then you are up for a big dissapointment. Knowing very well how Michael has evolved since his first album I bought the CD expecting the unexpected...
You know is Enigma, you feel it and you sense it. Different style, different rythm but the essence is still there. I agree that Michael vocals are not the best and a poor choice for his songs but the rest of the album is completely sensational. Nothing short of amazing at how he can change everyday sounds and turn them into musical poetry.
The music has evolved into a more dancy, thoughtful, contemporary sound, without falling into stereotypes of todays music. This sound is completely his own.
Best tracks: Following the sun, Boum Boum, Incognito and From east to west.
Nothing short of astonishing, congratulations Michael

Free Music Review: Enigma Strikes Again
Hit: 5 Stars

with his last CD Screen Behind the Mirror Enigma(michael Cretu) had gotten so great and impressive that it seemed that his genious was about to burst and that there was no more he could do that was of great quality. But that was wrong doing the smart thing Cretu decided to tone it down and go back to basics and thus he has come out with Vouyager.

The use of chants has lessend tremendously in this cd and cretu has decided to go more melodic and trance like while still holding the dance floor sounding beats that made his music so tremendously popular. While manny of the songs hold true to the sound of Enigma Cretu has moved to a more ambientelectronica sound that gives his music a more livly feel to it (a good thing). the beats are amazing and the music is all that one could hope for.
I can honestly say that it is one of his best cds a must have for all enigma listeners.

I bought Voyageur in '04, and must admit that I was cool to it after the first couple of listenings. In early '05 I went to Iraq to train Iraqi police, and later asked my brother to send me the 'copies' I had made of roughly 12 CD's, including this one. Listening with headphones while writing home on my laptop, Voyageur quickly became a favorite. Right from the start with "From East to West" it was easy to forget my environment and become immersed in the unique beats and orchestrations that make Enigma a favorite. While 'Roi' is still the best and most cherished of my Enigma collection, Voyageur will forever hold a place of prestige in my heart. Friends downloaded my CD onto their iPods, some hearing Enigma for the first time, and were blown away by the artistry. We're talking police trainers in their 50's who were suddenly introduced to a new genre that impressed. -- TM

Absolutely beautifull is the phrase that springs directly to mind. Enigma evolves again, and so majestically it's nearly impossible for me to describe the experience AND do the entire piece justice at the same time! SO instead....

My favorite Enigma album (allthough i love them all) was definately The Screen Behind The Mirror. It was a wonderful departure and an amazing acomplishment, and i'm happy to say, it looks like Voyageur is yet annother step in the right direction for the evolution of Enigma.
So far i don't love it as much as TSBTM overall, but it shares the common Enigma ability to grow on you and overwhelm you over time and it definately has the relaxing, spiritual feeling that Mr.Cretu has fine tuned over the years.

Big thumbs up, at least for those who have a mind of their own!

Free Music Review: amzing NEW addition to Enigma
Hit: 5 Stars

I just do not understand why are people complaining about this new Cretu project. The album contains no samples but all original work by Cretu and I feel Enigma project is evolving in right direction ever since Enigma 3. The artist evolves, and so should listener with them as well. This is the most original piece of music I have heard lately. I welcome all of the changes in sound and embrace remixes of Voyageur as well. And to all of those who complain I just want to say that Michael Cretu is not traditional new age world fusion artist and I just do not want another copy of Enigma 1 or Enigma 2, like some of past reviews explained; I want new sounds and new direction and something original that only Cretu could come up with, and that is what Voyageur is all about. Album is plain amazing.
