Free Music Review: Excellent! No better than this new style!

I haven't been one to really appreciate the words of others whenthey praise music because usually it's such a matter of personal
taste but in this case I have to make a special exception. This
is kick ass music that is just not able to be passed up! It
screams for you to listen to it more. Even more so it is just
this feeling of having no reason to listen but listening anyway,
that enables us to feel what he is saying. This feeling requires
no effort from the listener, just a few listens to get the gist
of what Michel Cretu was trying to express. He does away with
the sampling of the past CD's, this time settling for a
beautiful arrangement of guitars and strange sounds you'll
wonder about.

I fell in love with Enigma in the 90's with MCMXC A.D. Later I got The Screen Behind the Mirror, which was OK, but not as good as the first one. Then I got Voyageur, and rather than give a technical review, I'll tell you my reaction to this CD. When I got it, I put it in my car CD player and didn't take it out for over a month, and then only reluctantly. I find myself playing many of the tracks 2-3 times in a row. If I could only listen to one type of music for the rest of my life, it would be New Age....if I could only listen to one CD, it would be Voyageur! My goal now is to get 6 Enigma CD's and put them all in my car CD player at the same time and just "fly" with their music.By the way....I'm a 60 something grandmother.

Whoa, that's how I sum up this album. I actually was completely caught off guard by the release of this album (I had no idea it was coming). I am a huge Engima fan since day I and was completely blown away by this album. It is by and large the most unique album of the bunch as it shares few aspects from the others---though still is excellent. Cretu is a master and has modernized the sound of Enigma while still retaining the mysterious, sensual aura of the earlier works. The only flaw that I saw with the album was not using Sandra's voice more often--that and the fact that it seems way short (in the same way that MCMXC did). Overall an excellent album and a must for any Enigma fan! Oh, one final thought, the unique case design was awsome!Free Music Review: Wonderful!

Ok, now I have read all of these reviews and have read all of the reviews on enigmamusic (dot) com and I DISAGREE with all of the negative comments. Grant you, this album is different but hey, who wants to buy the same ole, same ole? I listened tho this SEVERAL times before I posted a review and I must say IT GETS BETTER AS I HEAR IT MORE OFTEN! It is a TERRIBLE shame that this album has not been promoted more. If you are interested in listening to a music cd that will captivate your mind and soul - I recommend this one! For all you out there who say you are true enigma fans - let me be the first one to say that the key is an OPEN MIND. If you don't have that - you won't enjoy the enigma experience. There's no question i was excited for Voyageur's release, being a big fan of Enigma and all. This is album is obviously different from the "traditional" Enigma that i have grown accustomed to over the years, but it does present a new style with a bit of the old twist. This isn't Enigma's best album, but it is worth buying. If you've enjoyed Enigma in the past, you'll most likely approve of the album, just give it time to grow on ya. It took me a couple days. This album is pretty well balanced, some tracks were obviously better than others. 04-Page of Cups, 05-Boum Boum, 07-Look of Today, and 10-the Piano are the ones that stuck out for me.
I just wished there were more tracks with Ruth-Ann. That would've been super :)
