Free Music Notes for VoyageurFree Music Review: Big Changes Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a huge fan of Enigma since discovering "MCMXCAD" in the mid 1990's. From my first playing of Sadeness, I was hooked! The hot dance track combined with chats created an amazing new sound! Every Enigma album has been a masterpiece, with maybe the exlusion of "The Cross of Changes". Sure, it had some really good songs, but it just wasn't the masterpiece like 1, 3, 4, and 5. Here came "Voyageur" and it was an obvious change for Michael Cretu and his Enigma. Keeping that same "mystical" Enigma feeling, yet adding stronger electronica beats made it's focus on more of a techno/rave scene. Michael Cretu, you're amazing! Please keep it coming...
Free Music Review: 5 stars for change! Hit: 5 Stars
5 stars because it is STILL Enigma! If you are a true Enigma fan like myself, do not listen to the bad reviewers who are unwilling to accept change. But don't think you won't recognize that this is still the Enigma we know and love. The album does have a very modern feel in places, some classical influence, and that certain magic that is Enigma is always there underlying the entire cd. I personally didn't want another Return to Innocence, I'd rather something new from the artists I enjoy. And by the way, Voyageur is miles above Delerium's Chimera! Michael Cretu is still the king of this genre! Get it Enigma fans, you won't be disappointed.
Free Music Review: Enigma is Timeless Hit: 5 Stars
Michael Cretu is one of the most gifted musical visionaries yet. He is the man behind the creative force called Enigma. Sandra Lauer is his wife as well as a vocalist on many Enigma tracks. Well studied in classical music, he has been able to transform and mold several styles of music into something spectacular. Don't consider the individual CD releases as single works, but as single parts of a series. With each new album there is a flow and deliberate continuum. Enigma does not rely on publicity, radio play or MTV videos to sell their albums. They simply make wonderful music - From the heart and For the heart.
Free Music Review: I like Voyageur Hit: 5 Stars
I like Voyageur. I am generally a symphonic music listener; but I came to Enigma from a mix program called Music From the Hearts of Space, at www.hos.com.Here I first heard MXMXC AD, and I was hooked. I bought that CD and the next three. I collected all of the lyrics off the internet. But, in spite of this, I never quite knew what was going on in these "threaded" or related discs.
I really like Voyageur because M Cretu seems to have dispensed with lyrics to the greatest extent, and what we have left is the propulsive "EuroDisco dance beats" as described by Stephen Hill of HOS.
Free Music Review: Boum Boum Baby Beautiful Hit: 5 Stars
I'd like to comment on Mr. Karlsburg's comments on his review of Voyager. Micheal's voice is not all over the cd, actually another male singer by the the name of Andru is the dominant male voice along with Ruth-Ann from Olive, as the dominant female voice, SHE sings Following the Sun. Thank you very much ;) This cd is classic Engima and it works (if you all know what I mean). I happen to enjoy the increase of vocals that were dominate on Screen Behind the Mirror (again Ruth-Ann from Olive), these vocals are enjoyable and much easier to listen to then the likes of Hootie and the Blowfish...
