Free Music Notes for A Day Without RainFree Music Review: Mirabile dictu, Mirabile visu - Enya is Amazing!!! Hit: 5 Stars
A Day Without Rain is brilliant. Enya has an incredible power to heal my soul from the first time I've listened to her with "The Cetls Album". The career of this genious artist will last forever. I am always anxious to get the next album. The first track is named with the album title. As it sugests, Ireland has a very changeable weather, but Enya has the power to settle down the "storms". If you have the opportunity to see the videos based on her songs, you will see that whenever you do it, you have a new sensation of peace and comfort. She is the metaphore of the eternal youth. See, for instance, "Wild Child" video. "Only Time" was used on the film "Sweet November", with Charlize Theron and Keenu Reeves. Imagine yourself on a road and have Enya as a guide. "Tempus Vernum", in latim, as "Cursum Perficio" and "Pax Deorum", on previous albums, lead us to a mystical environment, echoes from the past, memories of the celtic civilization. "Pilgrim" shows us that each of us are pigrims in our journey on earth. "Lazy Days" is brilliant. For me there are two moments on the song: the days we are resting and the days we are working hard. It's quite impossible to describle each of the songs. Each of them has its particularity. After also buying "The Lord of The Rings" soundtrack, in which Enya performs "Aníron" and "May it be", I am searching for "Enya Video Collection" everywhere. Enya, in a nutshell, is a Fairy Tale.
Free Music Review: Alongside Enigma- A New Age star has risen! Hit: 5 Stars
Enya is great! When I first heard "only time" on the radio I loved it. Enya has a great voice and her music is soothing. The whole album is peaceful although the album's fourth track brings thoughts of darkness and terror to the mind. The album is very different from the albums you hear these days. At a peak Billboard point of #2, this album in a way serenades the mind to peacefulness. It's a collection of sweet melodies and thought-evoking ideas. It's really inspiring and it reduces stress. It's an album for all New Age music fans (namely Enigma) as well as quite a few pop fans for instance Alanis Morissette (although a lot of her music is alternative) and Celine Dion. Just as good as her "Shepard moon" album and better than her "Celts" album, this album is a must-have. It has songs for all kinds of tastes (except R&B) from the fast strong emotion in "wild child" to my favourite song in the album "only time". I only wish that "may it be" was also included in this album. Speaking of which, the music from the title track "a day without rain" reminded me of "may it be". The album with it's echo sounds is like a peaceful version of Cher's dance hit "believe". The album with it's mixed music collaborations and soothing musical themes is fantastic.
If you're buying this album to bring peace to your life-make sure you hear "lazy days". Otherwise if you're a pop/new age artist fan-hear all the songs! The album is also for all Celtic music lovers with it's great Irish background music. Since I love "Riverdance", I loved this album!
Free Music Review: A Jar Full of Good Flavors Hit: 5 Stars
Enya has always had her own very distinctive sound, comprised of equal parts of her glorious voice, emphatic bass lines, melodic piano and strings, all with roots in the Celtic folk song, but transformed to something all can enjoy. With this album, she has created a mosaic of pieces that are all very different from each other (something that could not be said of some of her tracks on earlier albums), but which together form a picture that is emotionally satisfying and solidly rounded. Only Time is the feature track, a number one song that has had incredible staying power on the charts, but it is only one amongst several tracks of equal strength. One by One combines a haunting chorus with a set of dramatic he/she lyrics, a paean to the staying power of loving relationships throughout challenges. Lazy Days, the last track, will put you on your back in that summer field of long ago, when there were no deadlines to meet, where the day was yours to dispose of just as you wanted. Tempus Vernum is a center point around which the other tracks revolve, with a heavy, driving rhythm and choral vocals in Latin that are pure Gothic, a track marvelously different and inventive. Wild Child is near pop rock, a song that will pull you in with its chorus phrasing. And just to prove that she can mesmerize without her voice, Silver Inches is an all too short instrumental. A remarkable set of captivating songs. With most albums, you are lucky if there are two or three really good pieces. With this one, there are no duds, only different flavors, each scrumptious.
Free Music Review: 'Day Without Rain' I LOVE this CD!! Hit: 5 Stars
Enya sings soo beautiful! 'Wild Child' is so cute, and seems to tell a story, in my opinion (and ethier I'm very imaginateve or very weird), of a orphange, and one little boy who feels alone. I know, the song doesn't exactly sound sad, but I get that feeling. Some of her songs ARE sad though, and you get to picturing the saddest thoughts in your head. Especially when 'Fallen Embers' starts playing: "Once, as my heart remembers, all the stars were fallen embers, once, as my heart remembers, I was with you". SAD!! Anyway, this and all the rest of the songs are so GREAT! I want all of her CD's!! I've reviewed The Best of Enya, and I said it there, but I'm going to say it again here. This music really reminds of the video game music from FFVIII. Like, 'Only Time' (I'm a Seifer liker..so this song and many other's 're his and someone elses), and 'Fallen Embers', and Wild Child (*wink*!). Mainly, they make me think what a wonderful sequel to FFVIII would be like, with Quisty and Seifer 2 gether. Back to the music!! I know, it's strange about associating music with a "dumb ol' video game", but I do it all the time, and it can easily be done with Enya's floaty rythim and beautiful lyrics that set the right mood for anything!! 'Lazy Day' actually doesn't make you feel lazy. It's full of such energy and pretty, memoriabal lyrics. There are so many more songs I haven't talked about, but they are all so good! If you liked: Paint the Sky With Stars:Best of Enya, get this CD, because it's just as good, if not a little better!!
Free Music Review: Hauntingly Mesmerizing Hit: 5 Stars
In her latest release, Irish vocalist Enya has once again captured the minds and ears of listeners around the globe with the hauntingly mesmerizing "A Day Without Rain". Full of vivid emotion, it will tug at your heart and soul with an urgency lacking in most modern music.Enya's albums are always soothing, and this one is no different. It explores everything from tranquil bucolic settings to the fear we all face after losing a loved one. However, she does it with a style and grace that is seemingly unmatched in today's music world. The spring-like 'Wild Child' is one of the record's best efforts, as it reminisces about the care-free days that we all wish would still reign in our lives. 'Deora Ar Mo Chroi', her Gaelic-language piece on this album, is both haunting and tender in its emotional delivery. 'Fallen Embers' is sadly tragic yet strangely soothing as Enya laments the loss of love. By far, the best piece on the album is the hopeful 'Only Time'. This is a different version than the pop-ified radio hit. It is much slower, more instrumental, and more solemn. However, there is a distinct emotion evoked in this delivery that the upbeat version lacks. Without the drums, it is easier to feel both the despair and optimism that the Irish lass is communicating. Overall, this is an amazing album that left me listening to it over and over again. 'Only Time' introduced me to Enya, but it was "A Day Without Rain" that made me a fan. It is at once touching, soothing, and hauntingly mesmerizing.
