Free Music Notes for And Winter CameFree Music Review: Another Beautiful Album from Enya Hit: 5 Stars
Firstly, I will state that I am quite biased when it comes to Enya. I absolutely fell in love with her soothing melodies when I heard "Only Time" years ago, since then I have purchased virtually every album she has. That said - this album is WONDERFUL. I was a bit disappointed when I discovered her new album was Christmas, but as soon as I popped it into my CD player all was forgotten. Each song is beautifully written and orcistrated, there are only two traditional Christmas songs, so the album does not have a purely Christmas feel to it. I was extremely pleased to hear both some new sounds (she plays an electric guitar in My! My! How Time Flies, at least I think it's this track) and a return to her pre-Amarantine style. I think some of the music on this cd is her best ever, if you like Enya you will LOVE "And Winter Came."
Free Music Review: Enya's Christmas Magic Hit: 5 Stars
Celtic singer Enya returns with her first new album in three years, and with her particular musical style, those who are drawn to her music all know that a Christmas album is one Enya was certainly capable of making. With her usual ethereal and lush arrangements, Enya weaves another successful album, with only two traditional Christmas favorites (O Come, O Come, Emmanuel & Silent Night), while the rest of the tracks contained herein are composed by Enya and lyricist Roma Ryan. The track "My! My! Time Flies!" is a radical departure for Enya, featuring electric guitar in the instrumental middle. Still one of my favorite songs on the album! The bottom line is, if you have treasured and enjoyed Enya's previous work, there is all the reason to believe you will find her latest offering to your liking and pleasure as well! Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Classic Enya! Hit: 5 Stars
I can see some of the negative points in the other reviews, for me, no Enya CD will equal Shepherd Moons with the song Caribbean Blue. That song seems divinely inspired. But everyone has their own favorite Enya song. But that's how it is with songwriting, some of the best musical work comes from an unconscious place as if by accident. And those inspired "mistakes" can't be repeated. But here are a few gems and all bring inner calm and peace. No cd library should be without a few Enya cd's as we all need music for the soul from time to time. Shepherd Moons Dream of Yogananda
Free Music Review: A million stars in the starry sky! Hit: 5 Stars
HOW WONDERFUL! And I under-estimated, and somewhat let the reviews and description of this CD, make me DOUBT that I wanted to get this album.
I am stunned, my jaw dropped, as truly Enya has done it again! And I try to hear a loss of quality or a misplayed note. Yet she is too perfect. Sometimes I ask myself is she even human?
People who have never heard anything about Enya will always turn, and stop what they're doing to ask: "who is that singing"
The least I have hear them say is "wow, pretty cool"
And these are the everyday common people! How can you NOT be touched!
I am a fan for life and of course I know that where I put my money is something that its WORTH my money. This is REAL MUSIC.
Free Music Review: And Winter Came... Beautiful it is. Hit: 5 Stars
I have not ever disliked a cd from Enya and I am glad this one proves it again. While Enya may not be for everyone due to the wonderful relaxing, emotional, and sometimes spirit lifting tones mixed with beautiful lyrics and a voice that is unique I feel that this cd is an exception and everyone should at least listen to it at least one time.
I am not one for classic holiday music since it is overdone to death and this is not what you would consider classic but in its own right it will become a classic at least in my collection.
A beautiful mix of music for background or just to listen to that will hopefully bring you and your family or loved ones into a loving holiday spirit.
Happy Holidays.
