Free Music Review: The Best of Enya, No Doubt
Hit: 5 Stars

Here is a CD that will reach a wide audience - those who like soundtrack music, those who like classical style, those who enjoy what is known as 'new age' music, and the list goes on.

This is definitely the best of Enya and if you are not acquainted with Enya, this is probably the CD where you would want to start. The music is versatile, from the staccato sounds of Orinoco Flow to the smooth and flowing sounds of China Roses. In places the music is simple, in others intricate, but always enjoyable and pleasant to hear.

This CD is 16 songs from various other works. Some have made it into films other have been a hit with radio air play, but all are well performed, emotional, heartfelt and enjoyable to hear. The CD also has songs which have a Celtic feel (a style where Enya gained her start in music with her family). So, sample to songs above and hear why Enya has become so popular in the last decade. Her music is well worth the investment.

Free Music Review: Watermark started it

Enya began a great re-awakening of Celtic music with Watermark. I encourage you to explore more Celtic music. Here are some suggestions:

Very Similar:
Meav
Clannad

A little more traditional:
Loreena McKennitt
Altan
Aeone
Ceredwen

Traditional Celtic folk:
The Chieftains

Traditional Jigs and Reels
Lunasa
Solas

Celtic Harp:

Jennifer Pratt-Walter

Celtic Fiddle:
Kevin Burke
Celtic Fiddle Festival
Alasdair Fraser

This is just a sample where I've tried to combine the known with some hidden gems. Please take this opportunity to
explore the wide range of great Celtic music out there. Or take a look at my wish list for a good selection of Celtic music.

Free Music Review: Hauntingly beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

People seem to feel one of 2 ways about Enya's music - they love it or they hate it. Maybe it's the "New Age" tag that makes folks feel that way or maybe it's too mellow for them. I happen to love it as it speaks to me on some level I can't even explain - perhaps it's the Irish roots or the lushness of the music, but it communicates to me on a deeper level than most music.

That being said, I'd advise if you are interested in Enya's music or are familiar with it, this is a great cd. No "greatest hits" is truly all the greatest, let's face it - there may be something in there you or I wouldn't have chosen. But this cd is a good representation of the dream like quality Enya weaves through out her music. This cd comes close to being a greatest hits for the time period covered.

So introduce yourself or a similiarly minded friend to Enya via this cd or get it for the Enya lover in your life - you'll really enjoy it.

Free Music Review: The Best :-)
Hit: 5 Stars

Just another review to add on the collection but it's worth the reading :-) Anyways. I love listening to Enya's music it makes me feel very calm and relax from a rough day from work and school. I brought this album and I must say it's a great collection of all her songs from pervious albums. I highly recommend anyone to buy this album to listen for a glimpse of what the other albums have in store for you, if you didn't buy any of her previous albums, or if you just don't want to buy the other ones but you should because all of them are great. I'm rambling so let's get to the point here. I just brought this one to add on to my collection of her music, that's another good reason to buy! and just incase you didn't buy one of her previous albums in my case would be The Celts you can listen to the Celts (its's a song, she has a album called the celts too) on this album it's a great song. I LOVE this album and all the rest of them.

Free Music Review: Most of the best of Enya
Hit: 5 Stars

This album captures most of my very favorites, and little else besides favorites, of Enya. Am I wierd? I like to listen to Enya LOUD! I don't find its appeal to be a dreamy, placid lullaby quality; instead it charges and inspires me. If you've never tried it before, try listening to Storms in Africa cranked way up (but watch out because that bass sneaks up on you and really makes your speakers vibrate). Enya fills the scale with music, from deepest bass to highest treble, leaving you feeling emotionally charged and filled with music. She keeps a powerful rhythm with unusual percussion sounds such as steel drums, vocal beats, and symphonic strikes. True, there are plenty of very nice quiet, dreamy pieces as well, but my favorites, like Memories of Trees or Book of Days, for instance, do not make me feel quiet and calm, but alive and energized. This is "New Age" music that's not just for New Agers.
