Free Music Notes for Paint the Sky with Stars: The Best of EnyaFree Music Review: MOST OF THE BEST OF ENYA Hit: 5 Stars
Let me put it this way, it has "Orinoco Flow" (a.k.a) "Sail Away" and a slew of other songs that are really good. Of course, it doesn't have her newer songs like "Only Time". So I guess we'll have to be patient and wait for a definitive Best of Enya CD. Apart from "Orinoco Flow", "Caribbean Blue", "Anywhere Is", "Only If", "The Celts", and "On My Way Home", are really good, IMO. Video-gamers should take note of this fact: One of Enya's CD's was part of a list on ffonline.com's list of music for gamers that like RPG-like music. It was because of that article that I bought this CD and sure enough, they were right. Track 6 "The Celts" would go nicely with a game like Valkyrie Profile, which mostly deals with Norse Mythology. If you want an introduction to Enya, this is a good place to start.
Free Music Review: Magic To The Ears!!! Hit: 5 Stars
A few months ago,I would only listen to country music.I never heard of Enya.Today I have 7 of her albums.I can`t get enough of her!I bet you wonder how I found out about Enya?I heard an advertisement for her new album,A day without rain,on TV.After that,I was hooked. An Enya fan for life!Paint the sky with stars is not her best, but definitely worth 5 stars,NO PUN INTENDED.My favorite song on the album is-Anywhere is.I just like the sound of it and thats enough for me!If you buy an Enya CD thinking you are going to hear alot of rock and roll [junk],you are going to be disappointed. But if you are looking for an artist with a very beautiful voice who plays soft pleasant music then you will like this album,as well as her others.Today I listen to two kinds of music, country and Enya. They say Enya is a New Age singer?I`m not sure what that is,so I`ll just put her in a class of her own!
Free Music Review: A nifty collection! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a marvelous collection of 16 tracks from Enya's first four albums ranging from the simple, dreamy soundscapes of 1986's "The Celts", to the sophistication of 1988's "Watermark" and then the aquatic beauty of 1991's "Shephard Moons", and finally the earthier etheral ambience of 1995's "The Memory Of Trees". There are two previously unreleased tracks. "Only If" is an upbeat and thundering song that continues the upbeat vibe of "Anywhere Is" and perfectly follows that great track. The title track though, while good, drags on a bit and doesn't rank with the rest of the tracks on this CD and I sometimes skip it. Overall though despite one slightly sub-par track, this CD has no filler. A worthy purchase for casual Enya fans but her regular albums offer much more than just this 'best of' CD.
Free Music Review: Simply an Amazing CD Hit: 5 Stars
Quick Review:
A wonderful CD, containing fantastic vocals and music. I highly recommend it.
Full Review:
This CD was my introduction to Enya's wonderful music, and I must say that it remains one of my favorite CD's of all time. I was simply blown away by her voice and the power of her music.
Originally, I only liked a few of the songs. But as I continued to listen, I found that though I liked about 5 or 6 more than the others, I found the entire CD listenable and wonderful (a rare feat for me).
After purchasing this CD, I decided to get "Watermark." It absolutely paled in comparison. I have since gotten "Memory of Trees" and "A Day Without Rain." Of all these CD's, though all have some good songs, Paint the Sky With Stars remains my favorite Enya CD.
Free Music Review: Soothing and ethereal music for your soul Hit: 5 Stars
Have you ever had a day where all the stress and time management doesn't help? Try Enya.If you have never listened to an Enya album before, this is the best one to start with. You will hear her more upbeat music such as "Orinoco Flow" and "Book of Days" as well as her more calming "China Roses" (my personal favorite) and "Shepherd Moons." I find that I can get a lot more work done during the day if I have this album playing in the background. She never tries to push her listener with overpowering vocals (basically shouting many singers who think volume equals quality). She does overwhelm you with the richness and beauty of her voice. I would recommend closing your eyes and listening to this album the first time (at least). Honestly, I think you will be moved.
