Free Music Review: In love again....
Hit: 5 Stars

It's so nice to be in love with an Erasure album again, which hasn't happened on a truly magnificent scale since 'Erasure' and 'I say'. Somehow Andy and Vince manage to create an uptempo, emotionally charged theme for this album (rather like 'I say') without the melancholy of 'Nightbird' or grand experimentalism of 'Erasure'. In more recent work, Andy's voice has taken on a lovely mature, deeper note and that is wonderfully evident on 'Light at the end of the world'. Having created such a solid and winning formula, I cannot see any reason to change just for the sake of it. Critics talk of the need to move the 'Erasure' project in a new, more modern direction - I for one, feel entirely content and blessed to have it exactly where it belongs - and this album validates it so beautifully.

Free Music Review: Another Winner!
Hit: 5 Stars

I've read some reviews for this album that say it's simply a retread or rehashing of older material. This might be true, but if you're an Erasure fan, do you really want them to change that much? If you liked the albums "I Say I Say I Say" or "Nightbird," then you'll love this one too. And while those former albums had some filler material, this one has absolutely NO filler songs on it--all of the tracks, including the bonus tracks, are catchy and upbeat. As it was with "Nightbird," the album gets better with more listening, and you'll find yourself humming the songs long after the album has ended. Plus, this album has one of the best Erasure songs to come along in quite a while: "How My Eyes Adore You" is pure snynth heaven.

Free Music Review: I stole away
Hit: 5 Stars

some of the more beautiful and creatively melodic gems to emerge from these guys ever (which is saying a lot). This band has the midas touch for crafting simply powerful electro pop songs. Somehow they avoid sounding formulaic though they self-admittedly stick to familiar themes. They consistently manage to mine rich new vistas out of a central "locus of reference." The result is endless hours of listening pleasure.

Though I wouldn't necessarily say that this is their best work, there is a distinct hopefulness, or magic, to this one that proves transcendent.

Free Music Review: Andy's best
Hit: 5 Stars

His voice just keeps getting better and better, and there's a broad range here.
Can't wait to hear the dance mixes of Sunday Girl. Adrenaline-drenched Sucker For Love is club ready as is. My favorite track is When A Lover Leaves You. Something about Andy Bell singing a troubled relationship song just hits me and I love Vince's synth work on that track too.
Nightbird was among their best work and so is Light at the End of the World. And this one is more fun.

Free Music Review: Great new music
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is a perfect example of why Erasure have had sustained success and popularity worldwide for 20 years. All the songs on this CD are good, but I particularly love "Sunday Girl," "I Could Fall In Love With You," "Storm in a Teacup," "Fly Away," and "Golden Heart." Okay, I guess I love almost all the songs. This CD reminds me of their "Cowboy" CD, of which I also love almost every song. They really can do no wrong.
