Free Music Notes for NightbirdFree Music Review: finally another Erasure album I can listen to straight thru Hit: 5 Stars
There are a lot of Erasure songs I've liked from their long career. However, there have only been two albums I love as a whole: "Chorus" and "Cowboy." Until now. In fact, "Nightbird" might just be my favorite yet. There is not much straying off the beaten path here, which is refreshing after multiple forks in the road. Favorites are "Here I Go Impossible Again" (the best, in my opinion - should definitely be a single), "Let's Take One More Rocket To the Moon," "Don't Say You Love Me," "All This Time Still Falling Out of Love," and "Sweet Surrender." I don't feel "Breathe" is one of the stronger songs and I'm surprised it's the first single. My least favorites are "I'll Be There" and "I Broke It All In Two." They are decent songs - just not as strong as the rest. The album as a whole makes a sweet little soundtrack to a starry night spent with a partner. Highly recommended to current Erasure fans or even synthpop fans who may have found Erasure's other albums too "out there" or campy.
Free Music Review: Touched my soul... Hit: 5 Stars
I have been an erasure fan since high school and love most of their work/albums. I do however prefer their older albums/music but Nightbird has touched my soul like no other album. Each of the 11 songs has amazing meaning and affected me on a very personal level. Andy's lyrics are so meaningful and touching. In particular the song which meant the most to me was track #9 - "I Broke It All in Two"...which explained all that was bottled up in my heart. Nightbirds songs have helped me realize my loss, my inner feelings, my inner emotions, my mistakes, and realize/changed my life. I must say it may be me at my particular point in my life with the loss of my love but the music/singing is beautiful nonetheless and everyone whom is an erasure fan will cherish this album. Nightbird has touched me like no other erasure album has. Nightbird is in my opinion, one of Andy and Vince's best albums to date. Thank you Andy and Vince for touching my soul.
Free Music Review: One of their best! Hit: 5 Stars
One of Erasure's Best!
I have every Erasure CD, and almost all their best remixes and bonus tracks, so I think I can rate this new work. I have been an Erasure fan since I heard "Oh Lamour" back in college.
The order of CDs which follows is how I rate them from worst to best. I do not include their two EP's (Crackers International*** or ABBA-Esque****.)
Yes, some of their best songs were on so-so CDs ("Oh'Lamour" & "Always" for example), but here I rate the overall CD. Keep in mind, the worst CD in my opinion still rates 2 stars**!
11) Loveboat **
10) I Say, I Say, I Say **
9) Wonderland **
8) Erasure **
7) Other People's Songs **
6) Chorus ***
5) Cowboy ***
4) The Innocents ****
3) Nightbird ****
2) The Circus/Two-Ring Circus ****
1) Wild! *****
Free Music Review: Erasure is simply the best! Hit: 5 Stars
I have loved Erasure since the 80's and they have always been my favorite group. I adored their 80's pop songs in my 20's, then in my 30's I adored their slower more soulful albums: Chorus, I Say I Say I Say and Erasure. Now I am turning 40 and just got Nightbird last week and I love it too. It took a week to grow on me. My first impression was it was too upbeat and full of too many love songs, but after listening to it for a full week, I really love this album! My favorite songs are song #3 and #5.
There is something inspiring about Erasure's music. I am not religious, and do not know if they are, but their songs touch my soul like no other songs can. Erasure's music is healing, loving, relaxing and moving. This album is very upbeat and will have you dancing. Still it is also deeply moving and touching.
Buy Nightbird, Erasure fans will not be dissapointed.
Free Music Review: Welcome back Erasure!! Hit: 5 Stars
After a few un-inspired releases over the past years "Other People's Songs" "Loveboat" "Cowboy", Erasure are back in Great form with this, their 11th cd "Nightbird". I am really taken by the beauty which is Andy Bell's voice! He delivers powerhouse vocals and emotion on all 11 and standout tracks "Breathe" "Here I go Impossible Again" and the glorious "I'll Be There". The music of Erasure has also reached new heights thanks to Vince Clarke's genious synth arrangements on "No Doubt" & "Sweet Surrender". Wanna dance? then turn up the volume on "All this Time still Falling out of Love" and "Dont Say you Love Me" these 2 electro gems will make anybody forget their worries for 15 minutes! The beautiful "I Bet Youre mad at Me" closes the disc in is what to make any heart of stone break! Nightbird should regain and bring new fans for Erasure! Well done boys! A classic!!
